Cheri,
If I'm not wrong, MGS is within 1 km of Toh Yi.
Gotta monitor statistics for the past 2 years and also pray hard that the year yr child was born in isn't a 'hot' one.

Irene,
My friend's son is at River Valley primary. Only the Secondary is SAP...but RV school hw is scary. The teachers really pile the kids with homework.

Paglar,
Sorry for late reply. Sorry again I have lost touch with my son's ex-classmate from kindergarten. I only know her hubby joined the Hokkien clan to get their daughter into Chong Fu.

Samval,
Most prob I will put my daughter in Pei Hwa, since my son is there & it will still be in the afternoon session. Just hope that she will outgrow her beauty sleep next year.

Hi Janet,
I am considering River Valley Primary. are you able to share more about your friend's son experience with the school?

thanks.

Pitstop,
Sorry for late reply.
I didn't contact my friend for quite a while...if I'm not wrong, both his kids are in River Valley. His wife is very stressed. RV Primary is not a SAP school but the way the teachers pile on homework daily is scary...worse when there is a long weekend.

I know someone whose gal is in MSG this yr pri 1. She said no hmwk for her gal dunno is it too good to be true or not. Even neighbourhood schools start piling hmwk to bring home to do le.

Hi. Can anyone help me? Have a puzzling question about alumni and priority for Pri 1 registartion? I am a old girl of Nanyang Girls' High but not Nanyang Pri. If i join the alumni, does it mean my child will be in Phase 2A for registartion- does it matter that I was not from the primary but only the secondary school?

Hi,

No, unfortunately. Only ex-pupils of Nanyang Pri. are given priority in P1 registration but not ex-students of Nanyang Girls'High.

HTH.

twinkle

call to check. Coz not all schs are like that. For ACS, it's ok even if you only went to the sec sch. Just need to join the alumni. We've called to check to verify this.

HI Janet,
could i check with u in Pei Hwa is there CCA for P1 children? how's the CCA life in pei hwa is it very long hours?

thanks
harriet

Hi Harriet,
Sorry for the LATE reply.
My son didnt go for CCA from P1-3 (since not compulsory). But from next year onwards, he has to take 1. I will tell him to take one which is not too time-consuming bcos his results have already dipped from CA1 this year.

Dear All,

What is the first step I should take if I decided on Chong Fu, my girl is born in year 2006, is it too early?
Appreciate all comments.

1st, you have to live within 1 km of Chong Fu. 2nd, join the Hokkien Huay Kuan.

I may be able to assist in both areas.

Hi Angry bird,

Are you able to help me?

I am a mummy staying at Bishan Street 23 and my son is now 2.5 years. I want to join the SHHK as soon as possible. I plan to do the following to get my son into Ai Tong:
1) Join the SHHK
2) Move nearer to Ai Tong - I'm currently between 1- 2 KM but will definitely be moving to within 1KM. I am very committed to this
3) Volunteer at the SHHK

Please I need your help to recommend me to join the Hokkien association. I am very serious about this and 100% committed. Your recommendation will not be wasted on me. I will meet you at your convenient time and place for signatory of the form. If you do not want to meet up in person, I can also courier the form to your office, the courier person will wait for you to sign and he will then bring the form back to me.

My husband is hokkien so we are eligible to join.

Please, I seek your kind assistance to help my son Jared get into Ai Tong Primary School. Please email me at [email protected]

Thanks. All assistance is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi, joining the SHHK does not guarantee that you can register at ATS. There's admission fee too. You have to be active member at the huay kuan, and then to apply for a letter to state your eligibility for registration. Without SHHK endorsement, the school will not register your child even if you are a member. Then if too many want to apply to the same school and only got limited places, priority may also go to those longer-serving members.

It's easier if you just move within 1 km and then go do parent volunteer at the school. Both parent volunteer and SHHK member register at the same phase.
