Like jasminetea, no need to pay extra for upgrade (I'll cry bloody murder if they did), and they were extremely apologetic, as though I would complain. Haha. I think since you've paid the deposit, they wouldn't downgrade you??

wow glad to hear that but on the other hand, when i was admitted to hospital earlier, there was a mummy who had just given birth, she opt for single room but since not available, she was in the same room as me leh.

Maybe 2 bedder was also unavailable when I was there? It was really quite funny when the head nurse person came to explain to me, and then my husband. They were so sorry that I have to make do with the suite. so so sorry....
Anyway, on to another question: Any of you have a maid at home? I'm totally clueless about getting a maid. Not sure the process, how much it costs, what sort of levies and what nots. Any idea any of you? Get from agent? What is a transfer maid? Are there any maid agencies who are good with infants & toddlers?

Pianokey, my appts with Lisa Chin also chop chop one. Waited for 1 hr to see her for 5 to 10 mins. Then my hb said that means I was fine, so don't have to worry 'cos initially I was quite "upset" about it.
It is good to do massage early in the morning.
I also don't have maid leh, so cannot help you on this issue.

Our part is really just to choose the maid based on their profile...the agent will settle the rest for us. Have to take an online employer course as well. It's compulsory for 1st time owners. Questions are pretty straight forward and easy.

We went to 2 agencies and settled for the one that has been getting maids for sis-in-law past 10years...Just go to your chosen agent and they will explain the breakdown of the costs. No obligations usually...Levy is $295 without baby, once baby is out, it will be $200 (or $195..can't remb).
You can request for a maid that specify her specialty as taking care of kids. But then, i give these personal profiles some discount. You never know it's true or not....

As for chinese medicine, make sure the medical hall is reputable and they know that you are pregnant. Sales guy can know very little if they are not properly trained in TCM.

hi Keann, yah Dr Gordon has just gotten a new machine that can do 3D scans now liao - tho I suspect we have to pay extra for the scans and only when it is neccessary. His new machine now can also show the heart rate on the screen, right? I have been with him for coming 6yrs liao n his old machine simply does ordinary ultrasound scan.

hi Keanne, strange coz my sil (who just delivered last mth under his care) told me that he has the 3D machine. I saw a handbook tied to his machine that has the 3D image also... hmm... maybe she was mistaken.
haha... dun worry lah... it will be a sweet surprise when u see your baby for the 1st time! I still remember the 1st time I saw my son is that he has inherited my eyes n hubby's lips! It was a very special moment coz I could never imagine how the baby inside of me looked like.

Lovedogs, I'm using Nepia. Personally, i feel this is the best diaper around. It is great for overnight usage, no leakage at all! Plus one more great point, it is so soft and I believe it is very comfortable for my girl. I have tried other brands in between and feel that none of them are comparable with this brand.

We're also curious to what brand of diapers to use....so wat we did was to stock up 1 of each popular brand. Got pampers premium cos all hospitals seem to be using it and mamy poko cos it sounds kinda cool. Maybe will get 1 or 2 more brands and experiment on baby

Having had 2 kids, I must say u need to try out the cutting of diff brands of diapers. What is good abt Mamy poko over Pampers is that it is meant for asians, so the cutting is more fitting. (plus some babies are more active, so some diapers tend to get loose after a while if it is not well fitted.) It takes trial and error to find out which is the best brand for your little one. I used to use Mamy poko for night and Pet Pet for day. Pet Pet is so so, the cheaper range but it is fine coz the change is so frequent in the day. Think it is 20 over cents as compared to almost 50 cents per pc for Mamy Poko/Pampers Premium.

Shd not be a problem for May as I believe I will top up sometimes in March or April unless my girl don't use diaper by then haaaa.
NB size for bb up to 5 or 6kg if I'm not wrong. My gal is 5kg+ at 3rd mth. I don't use cloth nappy at all, so quite difficult to estimate. But I knew my gal used up 1 pkt of 60pcs within 2 weeks for the 1st mth. Maybe other mummies here can advise?

She gave us a stack of bios and said feel free to look and then asked if we wanted to interview 2 transfer maids. My husband and I got a shock. Not prepared, so we said " wait wait...." then we took a deep breath and they were summoned. Not used to the yes sir, yes mum. I think I was more nervous than the maids during the interview. Husband and I were sitting down and they had to stand! Not used to it! Think we'll make terrible employers.

It is $15 per pkt from Nepia. I knew that Dignus is cheaper (by 30 cents) but I had bad experience from them, so will never order from them.
Anyway, sometimes Nepia will have promotion at $14 per pkt. Last round, NTUC's promotion price at $13.95 per pkt!

Go at different times of the day to ask for them. They won't give you many all at once. that was 2 years ago la. Maybe the nurse we approached niao.

My confinement lady has been doing my laundry and doing all the dishes, and making my bed, and preparing triangle sandwiches for breakfast, so I'm too pampered already. Mine is Fillipino. Yours?
