And i want to answer some of the questions people have asked me?
1) Are the oils suitable for oily skin
Absolutely YES! In fact, OCM is suitable for all skin types. It all depends on the type of oil you use. If you are using a blend, u have to adjust the percentage of different oils in the blend. Oil actually helps to dissolve dirt, oil, and impurities in your skin (this is why many effective eye makeup removers are oil-based). Furthermore, since you are not stripping your skin of its natural oils by washing it with over-the-counter face washes (which can contain all sorts of chemicals and detergents) your skin is given an opportunity to find balance.
2) What is the use of castor oil?
Castor oil has anti-inflammatory as well as antiseptic properties, making it a powerful healing agent which can help to draw impurities out of your skin. Also, many people have used castor oil as a serum for lash growth .
3) What is the blend you use?
I use a blend of castor oil and grapeseed oil for sunscreen and makeup removing.
20% castor oil mixed with 80% grapeseed oil.
I use jojoba oil+rosehip seed oil for moisturising.
Grapeseed oil is non-comedogenic. You can use grape seed oil for hair to promote hair growth, and make it smooth and soft. Due to its antioxidant properties, grape seed oil can delay skin aging by minimizing the damage caused by free radicals.
It can provide protection against sun damage as well. It has astringent properties and therefore, can tighten the skin. The linoleic acid found in grape seed oil can be very beneficial in skin conditions like, acne, dermatitis and eczema. Linoleic acid can soothe and nourish the skin, and help it to repair. Vitamin E on the other hand, keeps the skin firm and smooth. Grape seed oil is easily absorbed by the body, and it can be used for reducing age spots, sun burn, wrinkles and stretch marks as well.
4) How do you use OCM for cleansing?
i apply the oil on my face with makeup/sunscreen then massage from the forehead down to my neck. After oil cleansing, i wash the oil away with lukewarm water. Then i wash my face with a mild cleanser again. (double cleansing method)
5)Does OCM reduces blackheads/whiteheads?
Yes! Blackheads and whiteheads are formed when the oil producing glands in the skin produce too much oil and it collects in a skin . Since oil dissolves oil, loose blackheads/whiteheads will come off during oil cleansing, you will actually feel grains on your hands which are actually the blackheads and whiteheads.
6) What is the difference between commercialised cleansing oil and carrier oil?
-carrier oils do not contain emulsifier therefore they do not emulsify.
-carrier oils are natural! they do not contain anything harsh in it like paraben (very commonly used as preservatives).
7) How do i store the oils?
They should be kept away from direct sunlight and should be stored in dry places.
8) What is Jojoba oil?
Jojoba oil is not actually an oil but is a liquid wax. The wax is extracted from the hard seeds of the Jojoba plant. Once ripe, the hard seeds drop from the plants and the oil is then cold pressed from the seeds. Jojoba oil is regarded as the oil that most closely resembles human sebum - the skin's natural oil.
Jojoba oil is both antibacterial and anti fungal. Therefore, by reducing sebum production and prohibiting bacteria growth, Jojoba oil can really assist in the reduction of pimples and acne.
Jojoba oil is also naturally rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E, all of which are incredibly nourishing for the skin. Vitamin A is known to be an excellent wrinkle fighter whilst Vitamin E is used to minimise scaring in the skin.
There are many uses for Jojoba oil. It can be used straight onto the skin as an excellent moisturiser. It also works brilliantly as an oil cleanser to gently dissolve off excess oil, dirt and makeup. It can be used as a hair treatment to control dry unruly hair, softening it and giving it much needed moisturisation. It also makes a brilliant base for massage oils where the desired essential oils can be added.
