Hi everyone,
I'm staying at Bt Batok too. At 297, next to the swimming complex. But my boys at my mum's place in the daytime at Guilin View, Gombak.

Saw you mentioned of the swimming instructor in Guilin View. What days are his lessons there? How big is his class? I'm interested to registered my boy for swimming lesson. He's Primary 1 now.

Any mommy who collects the stamps from Shop and Save? We did our grocery shopping in westmall and found sometimes we couldn't reach the target of 12 stamps to exchange the voucher and threw it away. I felt this S&S a bit stingy because they changed their coupon policy from $100 to $120 to $180. Although it's always 5%, I have the feeling that it is trying to make it harder for consumers to reach the target...I felt sorry to throw away those stamps. So I am thinking if we can donate these coupons to some charity organizations...After asking around, I found it's not easy to coordinate because of a lot of tax and regulation issues. Therefore, I am thinking if we can just donate to someone who might need it. For example, I saw an older lady selling tissue papers at Bt Batok MRT everyday. She is such an old lady and still working to make a living. If we can donate the surplus coupons to her, it might help her with some daily living consumptions...
If any mommy is interested, we can meet at MRT station every month to collect the stamps and give it to that old lady...(or anyone we know who may benefit from these coupons...)

There is a childcare at Goodview Garden itself
it's above the coffee shop at the car park block. I'm not sure how it is, but mebbe some of the moms here who have children there can help you.
For me, I placed my boys at Just Kids at St 11 (near Princess E Pri). My older one was with them when he was 4 months old. We really like it there. The management and staff are very pleasant. If you would like more info, you can email me at [email protected]

I like Just Kids too. I went there and found that the environment is good. But they tell me that there is no more vacancies for toddler class this year. BTW, is there a bus that ferries the children to and fro. I got no car and there is no direct bus from Goodview Garden to Just Kids.

Did you speak with the Principal? She's very nice... the Manager is very nice too
Anyway, there is a bus service... I hear there is a chartered bus service that goes right to our estate -- I know it stops right at the sheltered area of Blk 386. Also, there is a free service... but for this, you need to go to the MRT station.

I did not speak to the manager or pricipal. I just went up to the counter to enquiry and put my boy on the waiting list for enrolment this year. Are your children taking the chartered bus? Do you know how much is the bus fee?

We are currently not in Singapore, so I've already withdrew my children. I didn't put my boys on the bus, coz my younger one was in infant care... As my husband was not in Singapore then, it was a rather complex arrangement

do you mean the one at Jln Jurong Kechil? I went to see it hoping to put my boy there but it seemed quite run down although it's a very big house. Decided to put my boy at the playgroup in The Experiential Learning Centre, apparently quite good reviews because it's started by Peggy Zee who is well known leader in childhood education. will have to wait and see if they are as good as it seems when my boy starts school in Jan!
I heard from my friend there's going to be a kindermusik place at turf city soon, the place will also offer dance classes for toddlers and kids. Has any mummy heard about it? Is it too far for us in Bukit Batok area to go to turf city? I heard there's free shuttle from Clementi interchange but not sure about Bukit Batok area.

My boy is @ 10mths, i intend to let him attend some programme to learn more thing n skills. Im staying in the west, so i would like to find a club/school/center at west side. From what i know from the webiste, BJG @ bukit batok is a Development Center for babies and children from newborn to 5.5 years old, learning thing thru Music and Movements (with single words on flash cards)

My boy has started at TELC at SIM Uni and he's enjoying it, right now the ratio is very good at 5 kids to 3 teachers for the playgroup. Only problem is he's still very clingy and wants me to be around all the time. I guess it takes time to let go both for him and for me!

My boy did not take very well to BJG at 15 months because he could not focus and felt very cooped up in the room when they were flashing cards, it was very intensive and I felt stressed for the kids. But he's fine in TELC at 18 months. I took him to Kindyroo and Skygym between 8 months and 17 months. Did the trials and compared gymboree, tumble tots, BJG and the works before we settled for Kindyroo.
I've signed up for Kindermusik trial at Turf City on 26th January (Sat) morning, can't believe it's a FREE trial because the other centre charges $28 I think for trial. You can check out website www.terrifictikes.com if you want to try too. I saw a documentary My Brilliant Mind that shows research proving both sides of the brian of a child who learns music grow much faster and become very developed when compared to a child who does not.

If you don't mind travelling a little, I'd recommend Just Kids at St 11 (near Princess E Pri).
There is also an infant care area in Goodview Gardens (above the coffee shop) opposite Block 386. I don't know much about the place, but have visited it before. If you'd like to know more, you can send me a PM

You can go to their website www.justkids.com.sg or if you go to the office, look for Mrs Yuen or Mrs Hee. Mrs Yuen is the Principal and Mrs Hee is the Manager. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful.

hello mummies, in case anyone of you looking for a part time maid, i have one to recommend.
she is filipino and experienced. she charges $50 for a day and typically works from 10am to about 4pm. she does cleaning of surfaces, once a month windows, vacuum + mop floor, wash toilet and ironing. you will need to provide her lunch. definitely can trust person.
the reason why i am recommending her is because i need to reduce the cost i put in monthly for part time maid because i recently invested in a roomba (an automatic vacuum cleaner) and i need to look into my overall household cost so wish to reduce her frequency from once a week to twice a month.
however, she is a great maid and i feel bad having to let her lose that two other times that i need to give up thus i am finding a new opportunity for her for twice a month on sundays to replace the ones that i am intending to give up.
she comes every sundays and i may ask her to come only on the first sunday and third sundays.
she is also doing for 3 other of my husband's friends so definitely good. her quality is in her good ironing.

I just went down to Just Kids for a visit ytd. It looks really good now. Just go and speak with Mrs Yuen or Ms Wong. Mrs Hee is rather busy, and doesn't go to the centre as often. Let them know Andrea recommended them to you
