Hi
Does anyone here go to NDC for dental treatment ?
I got a referral from the polyclinic to NDC and was given an appointment in July ! How can the waiting be so long for an appointment ? Is this usual ? Is there any way to get an earlier appointment ?
I thought a national centre would be faster and better service. Looks like I'll have to go to a private dental clinic. Can anyone recommend a good one for root canal treatment ?

Thank you.

well, the waiting time for a referral appointment IS that long :/ i once got referred to SGH but on a 4-month wait -_- in the end went to A&E. i got referred to NDC before also but because mine was urgent case as my wisdom tooth was impacted so i only had to wait around 3 weeks (but still considered long for an emergency case).

My hb recently did a root canal treatment at Q&M. Quite pricey but didn’t have to wait as long as months. Did it within the same week.

Yup the waiting time is long. I went there to extract my wisdom tooth and remembered having to wait for a couple of months. But they did a good job.

For root canal, I've done mine at H C Leong dental @ Clarke Quay. So far it was good. He was gentle. I did root canal + crown for my molar.

No experience with root canal treatment, but did wisdom teeth extraction surgery at KTPH dental. Service not bad. Heard that the dentists there were from Alexandra Hospital previously, so they are experienced doctors.

Hi spinsterella, how much was the root canal? I suspect the pain I am experiencing csnt wait too long. I need to shop for a good dentist to fix it.

If I remember correctly, it's about $900 for the root canal and $600 to $800 for the crown.
And shouldn't wait too long or the decay will be even deeper.

I did my RCT today at Q & M. Now recovering. I am so glad it's done.

I wonder what is MOH doing to allow NDC to continue like this making its patients wait 4 months for appointments!!

They are denying patients the right to prompt dental care just because they need subsidy. This is really immoral.

1 up for Q&M.

Yes. I also called up NDC thinking that it's a national dental centre, it should be the best the nation can provide in terms of dental care. Who knows that it's a long 3 month wait for a usual appointment to see the dentist for usual dental check and if I have any problem requiring RCT, I will need to wait 4 months to see an endodontist.

I've heard of the long appointment waiting times previously from a friend a few years ago but seriously, but in today's times where we can do everything online from changing appointments, requesting for appointments, pay online etc... Why is it that NDC still has such ridiculously long waiting times for 3 - 4 months for dental appointments ?!!!

If there's anyone interested in cheaper options for Root canal treatment, you can consider getting it done at NUS dentistry undergraduate clinics. My friend had hers done there recently and it went very well because the whole procedure is monitored and supervised by root canal specialists, yet the price is super cheap. About $40 for one tooth only. Then the crown protecting the top is $150.

Hi, can ask how did yr fren manage to get an appointment with NUS dentistry postgraduate clinics?

She went to the undergraduate clinics, not postgraduate. She got an appointment directly with the student there.
