Any mums with low placenta?

hi yvonne,
that's great that your baby is doing well! i'm sure all will be alright and you can bring him home soon.

hi naddy,
everyday, i watch tv, read a bit to my baby, and surf the internet alot! gee, i wonder what i'd do without my pc...

hi j & m,
when's your edd? next year, will have your baby already, so won't be so bored?

Hi! athlete,

My edd falls on 31 May 09. Oh gosh, I will be bored to death in the next five months...haha. Btw, have you shop for your baby's things?

Hi J&M,
Yes, have only just started buying baby stuff. But gotta wait for when my HB is off then can go shopping. After being on bed rest for so long, I got no stamina, walk little bit, feel so tired and dizzy, so don't dare go out alone. My edd is 8 Feb

Hi! athlete,

Are you still spotting currently? Maybe you can check with your gynae if you can start to walk more. I was put on bed rest for two weeks and was feeling tired and dizzy just like you. The more I stay on bed at home, the worse I feel especially my cramping. Recently, I made it a point to go downstair for a walk and get some fresh air. Initially, it was difficult and I have to walk like an old woman. Everyone was staring at me cos they did not know my condition...haha. I tried to do it a few times and now I feel less crampy.

Hi Ladies,
Happened to see this thread again. Juz to share. For low placenta, bed rest is very impt. And NO SQUATING!!! I had bratox hicks and the cramps got so bad until I had difficulty walking. I suspect it's due to the squating toilet I had to use everyday. But anyway, all was well and I delivered my baby via C section on 31st May 2008. So to all mummies out there, just rest rest rest and more rest if possible. Take it as a blessing in disguise cos once your baby is out, sometimes you'll be so tired until you're wondering if there's any leave for motherhood. Keke...

is low lying placenta the cause for daily pain/cramp in lower abodomen?

do u feel very pain till cannot walk when u stand up fr sofa?

Hi jan jan,

pls check with your gynae as low-lying placenta may/may not be the cause for your pain/cramp.

i had low-lying placenta till birth, and had to go thru c-sect to take my bb out.

but thank goodness, my preg was fine otherwise. look out for spotting and go to your gynae immed if you shd notice it. it's esp imp in your last tri as the bb is bigger and heavier, and wld b pressing on the placenta.

in terms of squatting, hmmm.. i use to sit on a low stool at home. so prob it depends on different indiv bah. but try not to squat if possible, never noe rgt?

my gynae didnt tell me abt my low lying placenta, i jz saw it in my scan report.

how high the chance to go thru c-sect for low lying placenta case?

how's ur experience of c-section?

jan jan,

it depends on whether your placenta shifts up during the last tri. My gynae did not inform me abt my low lying placenta til the last tri (guessed he did not want me to worry too much

).

If your placenta is still low-lying during last tri, you would most prob have to opt for c-sect.

Don't worry about the situtation. Enjoy your preggy.. dat's the most imp of all.

Just take note that if there's spotting, to go to your gynae immed.

Jan jan & geberra,

C-sect was actually ok. Not as scary as i thought. I opt for epi, coz i want to see my ger right after she is born & to be able to breastfeed her as well.

Was bedridden for the first day, and was asked to walk about by the 2nd day. Wound wld be slightly painful, but not so painful til would cry kind, coz therez painkillers.

jellyfield,

when doing the c-section w/ epi, did u 'feel' the gynae cutting ur flesh n tkg d bb out fr u? how fast the procedure was?

can husband b by ur side durind d op?

jan jan,

yup, hb was beside me during the op as i opt for epi. but he wldn't be allow to be in if opt for GA.

basically the docs wld make sure that the epi is in place before the procedure, so i didn't feel the gynae cutting up my flesh. i even had to ask my hb what was happening, as a screen had been put up to block my view. :p

i cld feel something was happening when he was taking my bb out, but no pain tho, as epi has basically numb the lower half of my body.

jellyfield,

how many hrs later operation can u get out of bed to go toilet?

did u feel vomitting or headache or dizziness after op?

jan jan,

i could only get out of bed the next day. epi patients would be bed-ridden for the first day, and nurses would get you out of the bed by the 2nd day.

Thankfully, no feeling of vomitting or headache. Was really tired though and feeling rather weak after the op.

hi ladies

I am currently 20 wks and this is my 2nd preg. I oso hv low lying placenta (LLP) since wk 12. gynae says it will usually move up but i am still worried coz it feels like my placenta has not moved up an inch at all. i spotted initially but thank god, it has stopped since wk 12.

and for the past wk or so, i am feeling pelvic pressure at the lower abdomen area. hv read tt it might b due to my LLP. any ladies experienced the same thing as me?

i oso read tt prenatal yoga might help as well. am gg for a trial soon. i really hope for a natural delivery juz like my #1. During 1st preg, everything was smooth and i had no issue wif LLP

Haise.. me too 2nd preg and low placenta (discovered during my 20th wks detail scan) quite worry but not sure what to do.

Hope I can have a smooth delivery like the first one. I still carry on with my daily routine, but I try not to carry my elder daughter too much since she weight 10kg. But feel bad at times when she cry for me to carry her.

I had low placenta for my 1st baby. It remained low till birth. So I have to go for C-Section. The pregnancy was smooth. Just need to take extra care and try not to carry heavy stuff.

Hi happen to chance on this thread. I had low placenta too in my first and 2nd trim. However, it shifted up in my 3rd trimester and I was able to give birth naturally

i have low plancenta but no bleeding throout the pregnancy. my gynae left me to decide -natural or c section. he said 90% can deliver naturally. the other 10%, u all noe what will happen. i was in a dilemma. for d last few visits, he would frown whenever he scanned me, yet he left me to decide. of cos i wanted natural, yet the consequence he told me made me very worried and nervous....

hi jkids,

if you're scared and intimidated by his reaction (ur doc) i suggest you get a second opinion from other gynae... he should be telling you exactly what is happening and not just frowning at it! For god's sake, he's supposed to be a specialist and could tell you if there's any problem and not scare you and keep you worrying instead of enjoying your pregnancy!!

when i was pregnant with my twins, i too had a low lying placenta but it wasn't the case during the last 2 months of pregnancy and i was able to deliver at 37 weeks my twins, natural/normal delivery.
