(2010) TTC-ing for 2010 BabySsss!!! Come On! <IMG SRC="http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard

Hi! I'm new to this thread..married for 2+ yrs and just started to TTC for a 2010 baby. 1st child! So very inexperienced here.

Has anyone experienced dark brown bleeding about 10 days before AF? At first I thought my AF 10 days early, but the bleeding became spotting and now the next day its gone. Anyone know why? I'm getting worried coz my cycle has always been like clock work..always 28 days.

hi
back to spread some baby dust to all!

For those who are ttc-ing for 2nd kid, do you rem when u first saw the gynae after you tested positive with the kit?

Hi all,
I'm actually ttc-ing for 2009 bb but no chance liao. So trying for 2010 bb now.
happy.gif

Emmie,
I'm ttc-ing for 2nd kid too. If I remember correctly, I first saw gynae at week 6 coz I was in Japan then. For 2nd kid if successful in ttc-ing, think I'll only visit gynae around week 6 or 7 only lah since they can only detect heartbeat after wk6, rite? Congrats to you!

thanks frostee! it's been so long...can't recall exactly when we saw gynae and could detect heartbeat. :p

good luck to you!

Emmie,
Thanks! I need all the luck!!
happy.gif
How old is your 1st born now? Mine is 2.

i m urs,
Relax, don't get stressed up. The more you stress, the harder it gets so R-E-L-A-X.
happy.gif
Easier said than done lah, I also stress. Hahaha...

hi..
i m oso ttc.. haven do my test yet.. but was due for mens.. hope not false hope
happy.gif

will wait til wkend to test if mens still haven come.

Hi all,
I'm new here. Pardon my ignorance, what does TTC stand for?

Feels really sian this morning...missed period for a week day...tried the 3rd test kit this morn but it's negative again! If not preg, how come I'm feelin really tired and nausea too?

Can someone enlighten me?

frostee, mine is 4 this year. So it's going to be a huge age gap. Is your first born a boy/gal? do you rem when we need to do the impt scan like detailed scanning etc? All I can rem of my first pregnancy was the allday nausea, the endless waiting for him to pop out and of course the first time we saw him using ultra-sound...hahaha

tng, ttc = trying to conceive. did you try a different brand of test kit? errr...sometimes it's hard to tell...

i m urs
i agree with frostee... must try to relax...the more you pin hope, sometimes the harder the fall... but it's really a hard advice to take.

Emmie,
My 1st is a boy. Yours? Wow, 4 liao... much easier to handle when 2nd one comes I suppose? This is something that I worry about lah, how to handle 2 alone. As for detailed scanning, week 20 we need to go for the OSCAR scan. I think it's called OSCAR, cannot really remember too. Hahaha... my 1st pregnancy was easy lah, just eat and sleep. No MS, no nausea, no water retention - real easy. I hope if this time kena, will be easy too lah. Otherwise how to handle #1.

Tng,
Yes, maybe you try different brand of test kit? ClearBlue is the most reliable I suppose. But I have a friend also didnt detect her pregnancy even though she tested numerous time using ClearBlue. Then she just go GP do blood test to confirm coz her instinct told her she pregnant and she felt very pregnant then.
happy.gif

Thanks Emmie and Frostee
happy.gif

Yeps, used clearblue 1st thing in the morn today...think it's really accurate then..cos my period just came...sigh..late for a week and caused this stress!

tng, well try again this month...
happy.gif

frostee, my firstborn is also a boy. i'm hoping it will be easier as well to handle... but thinking of the logistics... good for you! easy 1st pregnancy. u a SAHM too?

Hi all....not exactly new as i've been lurking around here for a few weeks! We are planning to TTC too, in a few more months so officially have not started yet.

But i had started taking my BBT a couple of months ago, just to see how it's like and i find it tough. My CM is abit hard to 'read' as well. Is it possible to still have watery CM after ovulation?? *scratch head* I can't decide if my CM is watery/creamy/whatever....I've also started taking folic acid...hoping to start on the right track!

I've noticed pre-conception checkup is not mentioned here. Anyone of you actually really go for preconception checkups before TTC? I'm feeling abit nervous about this whole thing....

Tng,
It's OK. There's always next month.
happy.gif

Emmie,
Yes, me SAHM too. Well, more like work from home lah. Helping my hubby running his business from home.

butterwaffles,
My 1stborn, I tried charting my BBT for months but give up in the end coz couldn't get the days right. Haha... I find BBT and CM hard to read so ended up using the ovulation test kit. Hit the jackpot after the 2nd cycle with the help of ovulation kit. Not to discourage you but I guess I'm not the right person to advise on the CM/BBT since I failed big time. Hahaha... Anyway, good move on the folic acid. I actually went for the preconception checkup before TTC just to make sure that I'm good to go and hubby went too. It's normal to feel nervous, afterall this will be an exciting new journey.
happy.gif

frostee, work from home...that's a great balance.
happy.gif

butterwaffles, its a good idea to go for the preconception checkup. We didn't though.

Hello

It has been quite awhile since i last visited this thread. How is everyone.

I hv a question to ask and hope someone can enlighten me.It has been a week since we BD (suppose to be my ovulation period) and i'm very curious to know if i "strike", but will it be too soon to test now. Will the result be accurate?
can someone advise me.

Hi Emmie,

I hv a boy who will b 4 tis yr too, ttcing for #2.
So let jiao yu.

Lots of baby dust to all

Frostee, i can understand why you gave up on BBT! It's really difficult. I have no problem waking up at the same time everyday but my waking times will depend on my DH as he cannot wake up on his own. Sometimes he needs to wake up at 4am, sometimes 5am. The only good thing is, from the charts, can really tell which day i O. But again, i only charted for a few cycles...
By the way, where did you go for your pre conception checkup?
happy.gif
Wow, strike on 2nd try! But i read the OPKs are not super accurate too? And i'm confused, should i use OPKs in the mornings or afternoons?

Emmie, i'm really considering to go for one but i'm not sure if my DH needs to go. He's not very keen on such things. He feels should only go see doctor if we can't conceive on our own, not before TTC, haha....

Blueberrypie, if i'm not wrong, you can test a couple of days after your missed period if your cycle is regular. If your cycle is irregular, you can test a week after
happy.gif

hi blueberrypie, we are in the same boat! I just tested positive...now just waiting for sufficient weeks to pass so that we can go see the gynae to scan.
happy.gif
from what i read on the test kit, can test one week after. But sometimes it can be too soon. Safer to wait a while more. hope you strike!

butterwaffles, can understand why your hubby doesn't want to see the doc before. Man's pride. Plus if you are young, then all the more understandable. If you are really keen, you should just go to your gynae to do a check of your womb and tubes. Take it as a routine check as well.

butterwaffles,
Yes, I had no prob waking up the same time everyday to chart but still cannot get it rite leh. I charted for around 8mths with no result, that's why give up lor. Waste my time mah... hahaha... I think using OPK is easier than charting leh. Maybe because I hit the jackpot on 2nd try so no complain for that lah. This time round, I'm relying on OPK too so hoping to hit ASAP!! LOL...
As for the pre conception checkup, I did it in GP - Healthway. Hmm... now not sure if mine consider pre conception or not coz just blood test on numerous diseases, pap smear and that's about it, I think? My hubby went for sperm check or something to make sure his little buddies are all healthy lah.

Emmie,
Who's your gynae?

I'm getting stress liao. If not pregnant, menses will come in 2 days time. Always so disappointing.

Emmie, i've looked it up and i saw a preconception checkup at KKH. But its so expensive! $268 excluding GST. The check is quite basic to me...Pap smear (which i'm already doing regularly), urine FEME, blood count, Hep B+HIV screening, rubella etc. There is nothing on womb & tubes. Actually, i feel that my DH needs a bodycheck up more than me because he smokes! Am trying to convince him that it's worth to go for a check. I'm 26 this year...but still...i feel a little paranoid as my close friend (same age as me) has problems conceiving. She's been trying for more than a year. She encouraged me to go for a check too.

Frostee, Healthway provides such checks??! Then i will check it out as my regular GP is from Healthway too. I think yours is more of a women's health checkup. Ahhh...i want my DH to check his soldiers too. Don't get stressed up! Stress will cause your cycles to become haywired. Relax relax...Recently visited my neighbour & she's 6 months preggie. I touched touched her tummy, heh.

butterwaffles,
Yes, Healthway provides but not sure if it's more like women's health check or pre conception. I remembered telling them I wanna do a check before conceiving and they gave me pap smear and blood test (like the one you listed from KKH). Urine test, cannot remember have or not but definitely not as expensive as KKH one. Since your regular GP is Healthyway as well, call them and get more info.
My hubby also smoker cum drinker. So he volunteer to have his soldiers checked lah. Save me the trouble of asking. And it's good coz after trying for months with BBT without success, we know the problems doesn't lie in us since we both are healthy. Then no worries or blaming each other. Hahaha... But I understand it'll be harder to get the man to go for this kind of checkup lah. TTC first lor. If no news for few months, maybe easier to convince him to go for checkup? Hehe... just an opinion lah, don't find me too kaypoh ah.
happy.gif

frostee, gynae for my boy was Dr Lisa Chin @ Gleneagles. Not sure if want to go back to her. Hubby say must save alittle now that it's 2nd child... hahaha... What about you?
Don't stress don't stress... i understand the roller-coaster emotions.

butterwaffles,
wow...268 not cheap hor? hmmm...then u shd check out the healthway package.

Emmie,
My gynae was TMC Dr Paul Tseng. I'll be going back to him since I'm comfortable with him lor. Hubby dislike TMC coz of the parking prob but I don't care lah since I am the one doing more work like giving birth and he just need to go find parking. Hahaha... much easier than giving birth rite?
happy.gif

OK, OK... no stress. I don't feel any pregnant at all leh. Hmm... hopefully I can share good news in 2 days time lah. Hehe

Dr Paul Tseng...he's the expert gynae or something right? quite expensive right? I also don't like TMC...parking really a problem. Wonder if there's any gynae based at Mt A... maybe need to find one there. :p

do u rem what your pregnancy symptoms were the first round before you confirmed? i couldn't...but i'm pretty sure I didn't have very sore boobs/nipples then.

Frostee, thanks so much for the information! I'll call up the clinic to check then :p DH did say why not just try first...But i guess being able to conceive or not is not my only concern. I'm just hoping to find out more about the conditions of our health. Not fair to bb if conceive already then realised actually got preventable problems? Your DH good leh, volunteer to check. He's definitely more open-minded than mine, haha! I think different women surely experience different symptoms when they are preggie. 1 thing i find common is they always complain of being tired. They'll feel like cement :p I think it'll be easier on yourself if you don't look for the symptoms...just enjoy your weekend and see how it goes!

Emmie, you mean Mount Alvernia right? 1 of my colleagues, i remembered last time she mentioned about this gynae. I think his name is Lawrence Ang. His clinic is at Sembawang Plaza. My colleague mentioned before that he is very popular and with him, you can choose to deliver at any private hospitals. My colleague delivered at Mount Alvernia
happy.gif

butterwaffles, yup i mean Mount Alvernia. Hmmm...I prefer female gynaes. Or rather my hubby prefers me to go to female gynaes. Thanks for the recommendation though.
happy.gif
If you have not taken the Hep jabs, better to complete them before you conceive. I kept putting it off. Now can't do it again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

rapple, hugz... try again this month. I like this website where it tracks the AF cycle and can gauge your fertile period. I used this to help this round. ;)
www.cyclespage.com

Emmie,
Dr Paul Tseng is pro in natural birth and VBAC. I was initially with Dr Magdelene Tan @ TMC but she concluded that I might dropped my fetus at that point of time due to some 'normal' cramps and put me on hormone pills. And due to some fibroids in my womb, she said I have to go thru C-sect. I went to Dr Paul for 2nd opinion and found out that it was all rubbish talks from her. Don't get me wrong, I believe she's a good gynae too but I suppose she just rushed thru my consultation and didn't bother to investigate further. Dr Paul is a very straight forward gynae. Doesn't ask much questions but whatever you asked, he'll spend time making you understand. I didn't discuss any birthplan with him but I successfully gave birth without the help of epidural or gas. So overall my bill was quite low. His package was $1500 and my delivery after deduction from Medisave, I only fork out $200. And Dr Paul doesn't practice episiotomy or cervix check or vaginal scan, that's why my husband don't mind him and in fact recommending him to some of his friends.
I'm not sure about Mt A but heard it's a good hospital. Sorry, can't help much on that.
My 1st pregnancy symptom was sore breast and tiredness. Other than that, everything was per normal till I confirmed and I started to feast. Haha...

butterwaffles,
Think my husband volunteer to check coz he don't find himself that healthy leh. He drank everynite and was a chain smoker. He worried too coz not that young anymore mah. Haha...

rapple,
It's disappointing but there's always hope lah so try again.

I hand itchy go and test this morning.
sad.gif
No good news so share. Hopefully false alarm ah coz menses suppose to come only tomorrow (my cycle is very very chun one.) Hahah... *wishful thinking*

Hi butterwaffles & Emmie

Thks for the advice. Now just have to keep my fingers crossed, will know in a week time ;)

Congrats to you, emmie...currently do you have any symptoms

Emmie,
Will try out the website. Crossing my fingers for u! Hope to hear good news. Talking abt HepB jabs...gotta go get it done too..been dragging n dragging...hate needles.

Frostee,
Ya...disappointing each time AF comes. But like buying toto or 4D...there's hope the next time. hahaha.

wow frostee...no epidural or gas? your pain threshold very high! there's always hope til AF comes!

blueberrypie, i had very sore boobs/nipples for more than 5 days. Other than craving for spicy/sour food and constantly burping, no other symptoms as yet... I'm keeping my fingers crossed no sickness. :p

Emmie,
No lah. If pain threshold high, I wouldn't cry when I had my ears pierced rite? Hahaha... I just think bb is coming with each contraction pain and time just flies without realising it.

rapple,
Hahaha... so the disappointment of not hitting the right numbers for Toto/4D is quite similar to seeing AF comes lah!! Hahaha... I think I can understand my hubby better liao. LOL!!

Rapple, i use http://www.fertilityfriend.com
Mine is not very zun, usually 28-30 days. Looks like i should go get my jabs soon too. Wonder how much the jabs cost...will call and check.

Frostee, just now i asked my DH about the checks and he was grumbling why need to do so many things when TTC, isnt TTC all about having sex sex sex? LOL. He's going overseas for a month soon...i think i will try to psycho him again when he is back :p

Emmie, my DH mentioned he prefers female gynaes! Hmmm...i think it doesn't matter if gynae is female or male as long as she/he is a good one right? But when doing my pap smears, i always ask for a female one, heh.

Hi all, i'm new here and also TTC a 2010 baby. So glad to read abt all u gals here also TTC. And congrats Emmie! Hope to hear more good news.

Can i ask if experiencing cramps on Cycle Day 15 and dark brown bleeding followed by spotting from Cycle Day 18 to 20 are early preg symptoms? Anyone experienced this before? These days also experiencing some little twinges and pulling in the lower abdomen but very fleeting and wouldn't call them cramps.

My AF is only due in 4 days time..the wait seems so long... but praying for a 'strike' this time!

frostee, you think ear piercing is more painful than delivery? your first must be quite fast.

butterwaffles
my first gynae was a male...so I was quite ok initially. Then when i had my first kid, my DH insist that we switch to a female gynae. Now because of him, I will ask for a female doc when doing pap smear too.

thanks blueberrypie. Jia YOU!

Thanks Bethel! wish u luck too!

Emmie

Today for the first time I'm feeling a bit nauseous. Hmm, usually my morning sickness is only when I brush my teeth - I gag when brushing teeth.

pinktulip
Congrats
happy.gif
