Old Toys To Give Away: Gaspard et Lisa oven, Mother Garden first aid kid, and more

Hi moms, I have some toys to clear, and am hoping to help out a family on a tight budget at the same time. My toys are in fair-to-good condition, e.g. the Gaspard et Lisa oven has a small crack that I've taped. I haven't inspected our toy collection yet, but I definitely have other things...

Anyone planning to keep their kid home until K2?

My #2 kiddo is a Sept 2011 baby. I plan to keep him home till K2 because that's what I did with his sister, for various reasons. I don't consider myself a homeschooler--I started reading aloud to my son last year, and that's all we'll be doing for a while. My daughter only started reading...

    (Comparison) Ameda Vs Medela

I've been using the Medela mini electric (single) for about a month. It is noisy, but you can dampen the noise by holding on to the motor portion. The advantage of the mini electric is that there're only three parts to it -- the motor, the valve, and the bottle. It's really easy to fix up...

    (2011/09) Sep 2011

Hi! I'm due in Sept too (2nd child), haven't posted in this thread before. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] I've been coughing on and off since the start of the year, and finished off 2-3 bottles of cough mixture with no improvement. I read somewhere...

Any mummies quit after Maternity Leave?

If you've already made up your mind about staying home to care for your kid/s, but yet like your workplace and boss/colleagues, consider giving notice before maternity leave and forfeiting the benefits. That's what I did, didn't want to take the money and run. Evelyn...

*** Anyone been to Prenatal Classes?? ***

I've been to the breastfeeding workshops by the Breastfeeding Mothers' Support Group, informative but real life always turns out differently. I would think hiring a breastfeeding consultant after birth would be more helpful. I've also attended a ParentLink labour workshop, but again my actual...

    SAHM Mum? Concerns

Hi! I'm a stay-home mum (a 5YO girl, expecting no.2) and I do a bit of freelance work on the side. I do feel that I'm neither here nor there, I guess it's hard to have a balance. Do feel free to PM me to chat, or arrange playdates. You can also reach me via my blog: http://thebottomsupblog.com/

    Ballet class - 2.5yr old

Hi! My kid was at Dance Babes (Jitterbugs Cathay) for a term, but it was more of play and a lot of times you'd see the moms doing the moves rather than the kids. Because of the age group, it could also get pretty chaotic. I didn't continue after the term.

Any good CHILDREN'S BOOKS to share?

For good illustrations, look for books that have won the Caldecott Medal or Honor, you can just run a quick google search for the list. You can think of the Caldecott as the "Oscars" of kids' books. These books are truly works of art, in terms of both illustrations and the writing. There's...

Is it alright to increase the no. of post?

I second shimmers' suggestion; there should be a way to bookmark and receive notification on threads, so that users don't need to use smileys, etc. Right now they don't have a choice. Hope the webmasters can look into this, thanks!

Anyone read to your baby ?

Hi! The library is a great source actually, especially since you can move on to slightly longer stories and move away from board books once your kids are used to read-alouds. If you're really keen to buy, you can try The Home Library -- the owner homeschools her kids, loves books, and is...
