Review of Dr Phua Soo Mear?

Dear Mummies,

Been trying to look for reviews of Dr Phua, generally good reviews but nothing in depth.
I just have a question: Those who have been with him, during natural birth, does he do a routine episiotomy? Or does he wait and do it only when it is necessary? I don't want to be cut without a chance :S

Hi mummy,

I was with him for my #1 and prior to delivery, I did ask him if there is a need to do epi. He told me that in general, asians have smaller vagina opening hence recommended. Otherwise, will result in tear which is worse. He did epi on me and i still got tears!

But his stitching is good though. Don't feel much pain after went home.
