Hi everyone ~
I am new from motherhood forum ( a daddy over here) .
Need some advice & review regarding abt the childcare center & behavior for first time when they go childcare. I am staying at teck whye crescent area. My son & daughter attended Sparkletots at blk 3 choa chu kang.
Today is his second day, as usual he saw me & cry. But at night, he suddenly woke up crying & looking for me. Usually he sleep through the night or even if he woke up he won't cry.
Hopefully can get some response.

Thank you ~

how old is your son?
sometimes maybe learn a lot new things in school so at night will cry.

or sometimes maybe play a lot in school.

my son also cried but now he loves school.

Hi jayjay,

He is 20 months + old. What you said could be true also but the teacher did said he is shy & timid. Don't socialise with other classmate.
What I am thinking is "separation anxiety".
He felt helpless & lost.

my son is the same but he is better now

Waking up crying is very normal. This is because your child feels insecure.

Daddy and mommy have always been around. Now they leave me alone somewhere!
How?? Will I see them again? What if I don't see them anymore?
I used to have so much freedom... why must I stay here now even if I don't want to?

After attending school for awhile more and continuing to see you guys... the initial fear should subside.

Yeah. That's separation anxiety. I also hope he will get over it soon. Yesterday still okay, but today attend school, come again. Don't wanna go school.

Separation anxiety makes it sound so negative. That's why I don't like to use that word.
Instead, I like to think of it from their point of view... and yes, its scary!
