I am so encouraged to see so many mummies/adults wanting to learn piano! It was my childhood dream to learn piano but my family could not afford it.

I am thinking of persuing this dream, in hope that (after I can play one piece) my kid will be inspired by me kekekkeke

I am seriously considering getting my kid to learn at least one musical instrument (he can later decide what he wants la but I think I will get him to start with piano first, since I heard violin lagi harder to learn).

I'm a piano teacher, currently conducting lessons at students' place in Jurong, Bishan, Choa Chu Kang, Woodlands, Yishun, Yio Chu Kang, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh, Sengkang & Cairnhill.

If you're looking for piano teacher, please PM me. I'm not leaving my contact no. here because i have been receiving a couple of nuisance calls. Appreciate ur understanding. Thank you.

I hope to let my girl learn when she is a bit older. DO you think I should pick it up before she starts her lesson? Or learn together with her?

if anyone needs a piano teacher, feel free to PM me.

Hi all, it is never too late to learn. I am a piano teacher based in East Coast. One of my students was a mommy of 2 girls who were also learning piano. She not only picked up the piano in a short time, she also achieved full marks in her theory grade 5 exam!

I also have men in the 40s who are starting from scratch. The way to do it is to learn chords and fake books. I will be happy to answer any enquiries. Email me at [email protected] or call 98426924

Hi all! Its never too late to pick up an interest. Dont think that when you grow old, your fingers will not be flexible and these thoughts just puts you off. (Practice makes perfect) I am currently teaching a 48yo mummy whose children are now studying overseas and she reckons that learning the piano trains your mind and takes stress off work. She will be taking grade 4 next year.

You can contact me at 94855250 or email me at [email protected] if you are interested or have any queries.

Hi mommies!

I've had experiences with teaching adults and there are adults who pick piano up even quicker than children due to their quicker understanding and also passion for music. As long as you have the heart to learn, it will never be too late!

hi, I am a mother of 41 years old. I learnt piano in 2009 march with my 2 children and I just took my grade 5 practical exam. 3 weeks ago, but I fail.
I intend to retake next year March. It is not easy but this is my childhood dream to learn piano and so now I fulfil my dream.

I have passed my grade 5 theory Oct last year.

Taking theory exam is so much easier compare to practical exam as my fingers kept shivering and trembling that I cannot played my exam. pieces properly.......................... This is because as we grow older our threshold for adrenaline gets lower.

TO all the mothers, go and learn piano if this is your childhood dream, do not wait anymore.

I am thinking of picking up piano lessons but i am 35 years old, any advise if any of u pick up at later age.

Any good teacher (home based) to recommend.

Hi Baby district,

I have taught adult students and the challenge is no time to practice. However, I highly encourage you to learn playing by ear, meaning play music you listen to often and learn to harmonise with chords . This works very effectively for many adult learners. As for playing some classics, choose some light classics to start with .

Hope this helps .

Hi all

I'm a piano teacher who have 5 years of experience teaching, and I’m particularly interested in working with adults who are keen on picking up piano. This is because I prefer to gauge my student on their own learning capacity and speed, and have the flexibility to tailor the lessons according to their needs. I find that students tend to learn and perform better when they can do so at their own pace, and interests – including learning pieces that one enjoy.

(However, if on the other hand, you are looking for a certification in piano studies, there are already a lot of established music schools in the market that offer structured syllabus towards a certification, which are good options too if you prefer to take exams.)

To all the adults out there who wants to learn piano, feel free to contact me at [email protected] to discuss further.

My lessons are 45 mins each, and conducted either at my house (Bishan) or student's house.

Remember it's never too late too learn anything. :)

Randomly chanced upon this thread while searching for something. Would just like to share that 2 of my friends got their teachers at Singapore Piano Hub. Both of them seemed very satisfied with it. I recently also used their piano marketplace service to buy a Yamaha piano. Recommended by another friend. Quite good service as he explained how to choose and even recommended mover and tuner. I've placed their links in the words if anyone needs them.

It's so heart-warming to see so many mothers being interested in learning to play the piano!

My wife is the type of gal to just jump straight into things the moment they interest her. And she did the very same thing with learning the piano.

I highly recommend online courses.

It's very aggressive and not for everyone, but it taught me & members of my family A LOT very, very quickly. Good luck!
