Hi all ,

Hope you all can give me a good suggestion for a gynae . I had miscarriage on last year july . and last year November i have been diagnosed with Poly cystic ovary syndrome, unable to conceive till now. Taken clomid for 2 cycles ,but still no postive results.
wish to consult a good doctor who can help with all these .
Heard some good reviews about Dr Henry Cheng & Dr Benjamin Tham , which one is better for my conditions
Im too tensed and worried , as im 29 now

Thanks in advance

Not sure about Henry Cheng. But Benjamin Tham is better after you have conceived, not exactly a fertility doctor. Actually 29 still considered young. Maybe you wanna try out tcm?

@wind1_19 , hey thanks a lot for the reply and support . from the review even i think Dr Benjamin Tham is after you have conceived . But i have already made an appointment to see him next month . and im trying for Dr cheng also ,
In the mean while i really hope i can get a positive result soon .

Who are you seeing now?
Most of the govt hospital fertility clinics like kkh, nuh or Sgh will be ok. There is a dr Charles lim at mount e you can google or search on the forums to find out more.

Hi! I have a friend who is also 29 years old.. tried for almost 6 months but no news so she went to see Dr Irene Chua in mid-Dec for a fertility checkup
She said Dr Irene Chua saw her and immediately said she has PCOS (cos my friend has a lot of pimples on her chin)..furthermore, my friend's cycle is 35 to 40 days
Dr Irene Chua also prescribed my friend with clomid and asked to see her in 4 months' time..
Not sure if my friend is lucky or if Dr Irene Chua is super good but my friend tested positive in early Jan..
My friend did tell me that Dr Irene Chua said not everybody will see results immediately after taking clomid..

so jiayou k! Don't give up! babydust to you~

My sil suggested Dr. Noel Leong in TMC. I got two friends to whom I recommended him and both of them ended up conceiving after seeing Dr. Leong

Hi! Dr Ben Tham is my gynae. I am not too sure about his specialisation (might be really better to see him after conceiving), but he was the HOD in KKH years ago. He is very careful and attentive for my current pregnancy after I had a miscarriage last year Sept.

@kitty16 , thanks for the suggestions. I had went thru a scanning during November with Dr Cathryn Chan Weng Buen @ hougang , she was the one who diagonsed i have PCOS . She failed to explain what is PCOS as i was totally new to this PCOS and she just want to send the sample for biopsy . i had really a bad experience with her, ever since im reading forums to get an understanding of all this.

I am 29 this year, had PCOS and had my first one in 2013 after consulting DR Koh Cheng Huat. Hubby also had fertility issue.

Pregnant again in 2015 but was diagnosed as blighted ovum. On clomid and met formin treatment now

I have PCOS too and clomid didn't work for me. Went to dr tan heng hao at kkh. He prescribed letrozole which worked for me n I got pregnant on the second round of letrozole. Can try going to him. I went to TCM for both myself n husband too

I have pcos too and also tried to conceive after the medication, while we thought there's a follicle available, tried but ;(

I also like to know the info for the doc(s) or TCM , pls share!

i got a positive on last tuesday which was 12 days after positive ovulation. But on the same day night i got a bright red spotting on my panty liner and next day morning i got another spotting again, which made me worried . But clear blue digital shows pregnant with 2 -3 weeks on that day morning . Due to spotting i went to see Dr Benjamin tham , but due to emergency appointment i couldn't see him and saw another associate Dr Madeleine Tan, she couldn't see any traces of baby while scanning( it could be too early ) , but gave me progesterone to support , taken blood and urine for testing and need to go for second follow up on tomorrow which i will be seeing Dr Banjamin Tham . But yesterday when i tested again using watson's brand it was a very faint line and today i used a clear blue digital which shows not pregnant , im so worried now

please share with me your experience , can you be still pregnant ? any one had any experience before ?

many thanks in advance

Hi all , want to share my experience on pcos . I was diagnostic pcos and went to see lot specialist until I met Dr henry Cheng. First of all, he explained very detail on e pcos. And he put me on Diane 35 for 4 mts. After 4 mth I went bk to c him , apparently this medicine helps me. Then he ask Me to stop & try for BB under his guidance. I tried for 2 mth and dexited to go for IUI as is more higher chance of getting pregnant. I jus went for iui and now have to wait e good news in 2 weeks time. However he prescribe me antrogestan medicationg. I am glad I am with Dr hendry Cheng hands.

To share my experience. I m a serious case of pcos. Been to several gynae fr dr henry cheng to kkh dr sf loh to tmc dr lc cheng to raffles hospital dr sheila loh. N managed to get pregnant thru ivf on my 6th tries after 3yrs of trying.

Even after 1st born, menses didn't come at all again. Dr loh expected it cos she knows my pcos is not mild case. I just did a fet. N now pregnant with 2nd baby.

If money is not a issue, go look for dr. Sheila loh. She's good.

Hi I'm also down with pcos... had mens for 1mth plus. Just went Thomson to see Dr loh... does that mean pcos really cannot get pregnant?

Hello, mummy

For some strange reason, I only saw your post like 4 month after u post. Hope that you already baking something in your tummy le. Hee hee.

Just want to assure you that 29 is still very young, please do not worry and try to relax, when your body is tense and mind worried, it will make conceiving harder. Try to do some getaway with your ah lao. If both too busy, can try staycation in one of the hotel in SG. Relax and enjoy each other, I am sure in no time, you will have little one le.

Also very critical that both your ah lao and urself should do is to live a health lifestyle, smoking, drinking, late night partying, irregular meal time all should be avoid.

Jia you

Hey ger, I hope you are having good news now but nevertheless for sharing purpose I can share my experience.

I do have PCOS and I was on yasmin for a year to regulate the menses. It does worked well to regulate but it's med after all and side effects like mood swing are common.

I stopped after that and took vitamins to build a good body and I was surprised to be pregnant after 6 mths. Throughout my pregnancy, I didn't had any morning sickness or discomfort.

You can PM for more info bout the vitamins.

Dr Tan Eng Loy from SGH was really good. You might wanna see him now for PCOS and pregnancy.
He is very patient and would take time to address your needs and queries. The nurses around are very helpful and supportive too.

My menses hasn't been regular t all. I took prime rose for 2 weeks and menses came then haven come regularly till date.

What else can I do besides exercising to regulate the menses? I also have plans to conceive.

Me either. From the start of having menses, it has never been regular. Doctor say it's fine. A handful of the women, doesn't have a fixed 28 days menses cycle.

Have you seen a doctor on this before? It could be due to many causes.

U wanna try the Vitamin B, I took? Might do you some good.

I also has PCOS. Initially I was on pills for a few years to regulate my menses. Thereafter I let go of the pills and go TCM for around 2 years. My menses cycles was irregular. That happened when I was younger and I seeked TCM treatment early. After my menses kinda of settled down, I was pregnant. Now waiting for my 2nd baby arrival. Don't give up hopes. Go for both TCM and western treatment.

I just went to see doctor and was given medicine to induce menses.
after which, also did arranged a follow-up with doctor for baby planning.
losing weight is also part of the plan, doc said it will helps.
hope my determination will be strong because i really want a baby so much.

I'm also PCOS and seeing Dr SF Loh now. And pregnant naturally 2months after IVF failed. It cannot detect heartbeat till Week 10, so have to terminate pregnancy. Permanent again 2 months later after termination, it cannot detect heartbeat again:( Now is 9weeks, will need to terminate again end of month. Dr Loh unable to tell the reason and just said it might be due to PCOS. I'm super sad and king of missing now...

Just out from dr cathryn Chan clinic from astra woman clinic in mount e nov. this is my 4th time visit and very disappointing with the way how she handle it. Basically she is low risk gynae. Keep repeating the risk and very irritating even I already told her I m ready for it. The supporting from my another doctor w recommendation was being ignored. If u r high risk pregnancy, pls go to other doctor. Definitely not her. Don’t waste ur money n time.

Previously I went to Dr Jen Shek Wei when I had a miscarriage and again for my second pregnancy, which was high-risk coz of my weak cervix. I think it pays to have a gynae that is hands-on in checking up on you, or at the very least someone who can make himself or herself available to answer your calls or messages.
