Hi, i am slightly younger than u.. and now doing my second ivf try with prof PC Wong at nuh.

Hi, i am considering to go for ivf too. Is Prof PC Wong good? Any idea if c Pro PC Wong , still get the ivf subsidy as my understanding he is consider private specialist in nuh.
Yes, he is considered private specialist. So, u may want to complete all the necessary test prior to ivf at clinic G. That will save you some money..

Icic... which mean cannot use subsidy?
The moment you started ivf cycle, it's considered private. But there is cofunding from gov and we can use medisave to pay. So you wouldn't need to pay a lot for first cycle.
You can get subsidy rate by seeing other doc first before u start your ivf. Nuh practice is always to get u to do iui first before ivf. So, u can see other doc for iui first.

Thanks Yingchian... i have my own private gynae as from young always has irregular meneses prob.. she is the one who suggest me to go ivf straight instead of iui...not sure whether can skip iui or not if choose nuh... as heard prof wong quite good... anyone heard of kkivf?

Dr Sheila Loh from Raffles Hospital. I just did IVF and FET under her. Her assistants are so helpful too.
I am under Dr Tan HH from kkh and he attended to all my special request. He's kind, friendly, approachable and handsome but as u know govt hospital is usually packed w patients so average waiting time is around 2-3hrs. I'm still willing to wait as he did a good job in my egg retrieval surgery and embryo transfer procedure without much pain.

Hi Emmie, i requested for Dr Tan HH and met him before he approved me going for ivf. Does that mean when i do my ER & ET will be done by Dr Tan & normal follow up is by a team of ivf doctors? Because previously i was referred to Kkh through polyclinic and when i did my so-iui, it was done by a random doctor on duty. Not done by Dr Tan Tse Yuen. Or it is because she is on maternity that is why it was done by random doctor?
Hi if Dr Tan is available during your ER and ET, he will do the procedure. If not, it will be done by other covering profs i.e. Prof Jerry Chan or dr sadhana. So you can check if he will be on leave on the month you are going for ivf and try to avoid it. If you requested for a fix specialist, you will be paying private rate. Hope it helps

Hi, what do u mean by requested for a fix specialist? I called in to kkh to request for Dr Tan HH to see him at clinic D before transferring to kkivf. From what i know ivf procedure are all private rate, do u mean blood test etc that has no subsidiary? I did all my bloodtest, hsg previously under subsidy patient before i requested for Dr Tan HH.
Hi melody, if you request for just to see one gynae, you will be considered as private patient and Dr Tan will attend to you before ivf, during ER, ET and after ivf. I'm not sure if they will keep changing if u didn't request for just to see one gynae.
I did blood test at private rate and HSG at NUH when I was a sub patient. If your HIV test is within 6 mths and the rests r within a yr, which can last till ET, you can skip blood test. If not, it's about $300 for blood test.
What I meant is ivf can be fixed gynae and will be private patient but I'm not sure how to go back to sub patient after ivf if u are pregnant. I am still seeing Dr Tan at private rate of $98 per visit.

Dr sf loh from tmc is good!I have two failed iui with him but did first time ivf and my baby is now few mths old.i have 4 other friend swho went to him and he helped them to conceive too!do give ivf with Dr loh a try.stay positive I been there!
