Stiff fingers..

Hi mummies,

Have any of you experienced pain or stiffness in fingers during pregnancy that persisted even after giving birth?

Did the pain go away after some time?

Have you seen a doctor as it certainly is not going to get well on its own without treatment.

I had that, told dr han (my gyne) and he referred me to ktph ortho surgeon. The specialist injected a steroid-type medicine on my arm. Pain went away after a couple of days.

I told my gynae several times about it since the stiffness and pain started during week 35 or so...all she said was it's due to water retention and it should go away after delivery. Now two weeks after delivery and the swelling in my feet has gone down significantly but the pain in my fingers seems to be intensifying...

Karoosel, did the specialist or your gynae tell you what condition this is?

Yes but i forgot already i just remember ny index finger on the affected arm had a black strip as well, also my 2nd toe from the same side. It went away when the pain went away..

my knuckles start to ache from my 3rd tri. It started to go away abt 3mth post delivery. i didnt had any treatment done. now 7mth liao, my fingers doesnt ache anymore.

During yr confinement, did u touch cold water often?

I'm touched cold water during activities like washing hands, brushing teeth and washing face during confinement.

Will that affect?

Yes. it is better to use warm water for washing during confinement.
