This article summarises EVERYTHING that is wrong with raising children in Singapore. What especially makes me angry is that the "mother" has the hide to push her daughter to be number 1 when it's very likely she wasn't an A-grade student herself.

I truly hope the young woman is at peace and in a better place. As for the "mother", there's a very special place waiting in hell for her!

In the article, they seemed to suggest the problem was due to suicide risk and early intervention can help. I think they missed the point. The point should be singapore's education system that places too much emphasis on good results and rankings. It's created a whole generation of kiasu parents who want their kids in good schools and expect good results from them

It may not be the education system's fault. I believe the responsibilities lies in our Asian culture and it is up to us parents to change it.
