I am at a loss right now. Anyone has experience?
Saw kkh head of neprology (kidney)and they say since he is so small. It's better to do the wait and see approach because any procedure will harm his growing kidneys.
Went to nuh and met prof of neprology who say immediately do shockwave liptro and it will not hurt or harm but GA and morphine is needed after procedure.... If not hurt why need morphine right?
I seriously am in a dilemma.

Mayb u would wanna seek a 3rd opinion since the 2nd opinion differs from d 1st.

At least if both docs gave u d same opinion, it wldnt have been dat bad. But since they differ in opinion, suggest u seek a 3rd opinion n discuss at length which is d best approach.

For my gal, specialist provided an opinion, and we talked 2 d surgeon who didnt provide much opinion but gave us d facts on what 2 do or what not 2 do if we choose not 2 go 4 an op or choose 2 do a key hole surgery. In d end, cos of success rate %, we went 4 surgery as d success rate was 99%.

Hi Tiggerpooh
Was your daughter's a kidney stone surgery?
Yes a pcnl surgery has better success rate too in my case but it is invasive and the surgeon I talked too at nuh suggested shockwave which is the less invasive. But although less invasive, shockwave is only 80% success rate with a 20% chance leftover stones still inside and 10% chance the leftover stones get stuck in the urether which will need another op to take it out. Many complications for a 80% success and at least 2 shockwaves is needed for my son. Surgery seems like a one time thing and 99% success but invasive as my son still young. May I know how old is your daughter when she did the surgery?

I met up with urology specialist and he said he just did shockwave for a two year old and still has left 2 stones inside. I asked him what he did with that 2 remaining stones he said just leave it. I was like huh?! After all sufferings there are still stones inside? They will be like seedlings growing bigger or will get stuck in the urether. Either one needs another op.

My gal was 4 mths when she had to undergo an emergency surgery (Malrotation is an abnormality in which the intestine does not form in the correct way in the abdomen. It occurs early in the pregnancy (around the tenth week) and develops when the intestine fails to coil into the proper position in the abdomen.)

Den she recently after she has UTI, we decided to send her 4 a detailed check and found out that she has urine reflux to kidney. So this was the one I was talking about in my earlier post. She is 2 years old. I am not sure how old your child is, and I m sure as all parents do dat we want the best results for our kids.

Initially, DH wanted d non - invasive mtd, cos he didnt wan he DD 2 undergo a surgery again. However, when he found out about d success rate, he agreed dat it's for the best. We opted d same surgeon who did her 1st surgery, as we felt that he is experienced and caring.
