Hi mummies. im 3 months pregnant currently doing my own research for NUH gyneas. Would like to check any good gynea to recommend? thinking of switching to private doctor once I reached that stage. if anyone can share with me here or in private the amount they paid (consultation plus deposit) would be a great help!

I'm currently seeing doctor hk ho from mount alvernia and just paid for the package at 20th weeks. It is $1400, excluding gst. This will exclude the medication as well as any blood test I need to do.

Seeing Dr.Cordelia Han (lady) from Raffles Women's Centre since I found out I'm preg till week 14.

1st consultation: $120
Sub consultation: $95
1st/Sub Ultrasound Scan: $120
Maternity Package: around $1700
Hospital Delivery Package: $7000-$12000

But she can only deliver in Raffles Hospital so we changed to:

Cindy Pang Clinic for Women & GynaeOncology
38 Irrawaddy Road #08-25
Mt Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre
Attn: Ms.Cindy Pang
Tel: 66942162
Mon–Thu: 9am-5pm / Fri-Sat: 9am-1pm
1st Consultation: $120, Sub: $80
1st/Sub Scan: $70 (photos + MP4 video)
Maternity Package (starting from 16 weeks onwards, 10 visits only): $800
Her delivery fee: $2400

So far, I find both lady gynae are good. However, I choseb Cindy as my choice bcos of her price, professional and also she able to go other hospital like TMC, Mt.A and Mt.E. Novena.

Hi ladies, I'm 16 weeks and a first time mom, and very excited to welcome our new member. I'm currently seeing Dr Esther Ng. (Read lotsa good reviews on her and also due to fact that I wanna deliver at Mt A.)

To estimate the total expenditure, I checked the clinic to check on various rates:

20 weeks onwards: $950+
Delivery rate: $3K
Post-natal visit by doct: $300/visit to your bed while u are warded

All these are the charges for normal delivery, say you opt for C section, the rate Delivery Rate will go up to $4K - $4.3K.

Mt A hospital charges: ranges from $2.1K - $3.5K (for 2-bedded, depending on the complexity from normal delivery to with assistance to C-section).

I am fine with the hospital estimates and the 20 weeks onwards rates, cos, after scanning through pages of online forums and also checking with friends who recently delivered, these rates seem reasonable and "market rate".

BUT - the delivery rate at $3k is alittle on the high side (or so I think)... I have seen many other recommendations with $1.8k - $2.5k delivery charges, but hearing that the cost is $3K shocked me abit.

So here I am to check with all you mummies-to-be, if you already checked how much your delivery rate is from your current doc and if so, will you be so kind to share the info, so I can be less shocked with mine, or if you think this is way too exp just for a noraml delivery rate. (I was actually only expecting $2.3-$2.5K.. hmmm)
hi the deliver charges from Esther really expensive. when are you due?

I am also seeing her. I seen her since she was at kkh. I will only know the package $ after 16/7/15. Have u sign up the package?

hi, i didnt sign her package as we discussed that im alr 24weeks, the number of times im visiting her is less thn 10 times

Hi anybody seeing Dr Goh Shen Li Mt. A
Care to share her package and deliver charges.
TIA!
I'm seeing Dr Goh. Package starts at 14 weeks @ $880 b4 GST.
$2k plus for normal delivery & $3.5k for c-sec I think (can't recall exact amt).

Anyone went to Mount Elizabeth Orchard under Dr Kek? How is the overall hospital bill? I don't want to die of heart attack immediately after giving birth :p

I finally understand now why very few people in this forum delivers in Raffles. I got their finance counselling. Normal V delivery, single bed with Epidural, 12.3K estimate without any subsidy. My first child, so just want to know if this is normal?

No subsidy means what? Can pay by medi save? That's expensive but I heard before raffles many hidden costs that's why seldom ppl choose there as service not worth the heart attack bill

Hi ladies, I would like to know anyone is currently under Dr Khoo Chong Kiat? What is your review on him and the charges likely to be for A1 and B1? TIA.

I am currently under Dr John Yam, does he deliver in Mt A too?
If i were to take a prenatal package with him and subsequently choose to deliver in NUH under a different doc is it possible? As i have some pre existing condition and we are worries that our bill size will be astronomical during delivery, please kindly advice. Thanks

hi all anyone has an idea of how much kkh will cost for delivery? and they dont ve gynae consultation package right?

I m already in 8 mth now n I have switched to kkh since my 4th month... it is estimated to be deposit of 2.5k (meaning u pay up front) for A1 stay, natural delivery the rest will be taken from medisave... u go Google estimated KKH bill size for maternity n the chart will come out. The rest of the money will deduct from medisave. This is both doc delivery fee n hospital stay fee. Only excludes baby charges.

Me! I really like him. Cos he is a cool doctor n doesn't worry u for small little things (like some other doctors will be more KS n kinda every small thing also highlight n make u paranoid) yet, he goes into details for all the questions u have and explains everything well. When I switched over to him from Mt A he actually sat me down to go through all the reports that I received so I know what is happening.

A1 or B1 u can go check it out on KKH website bill calculator. I think I like KKH cos the bill estimates are Inc of doc fee and hospital ward fee... if u wanna be clear... can just call the admissions office of KKH to query whatever u need @ 63941881

Hello, I haven't been here for a while but ur msg caught my attention cos I m delivering soon under KKH n personally after the past 7 over months of pregnancy, I feel it is important that the prenatal gynae is the same one who delivers u... esp if u have any complications. Don't u wan the one monitoring u who knows best the situations to be the same one delivering u?

I'm not too sure about why NUH, u have a particular doc in mind? Frankly I was not pro government hospitals at first cos I felt the service won't be that good but I changed my mind after visiting KKH.

N many friends have advised that anything complicated should just head straight for KKH because they have all the technology to fulfil whatever needs u face. A good friend of mine had her gynae tell her at last min that she should admit to KKH when she showed signs of delivering at 8th month (she checked in to mt a with a complication, n her own gynae told her instead of sticking w the gynae go KKH now, cos ultimately they suspected they will need to refer her to KK) so imagine my friend's panic n she was hysterical cos she felt her own gynae from a private side had abandoned her.

The choice is up to u but, this is just my personal view that if u wan, make that switch early so the same doc can follow thru. (Though i guess it's all personal preference)

Also just to share that it is not necessary to pay for a prenatal package at $xyz from xx mth upwards. Cos if I compared base on KKH visit under a private patient (meaning I get to choose a Dr n he sees me thru my prenatal n delivery) n prior to that Base on my Mt a private doc the charges are:

Mt a private doc- seen her 3 times up to 13 weeks total cost $850.

KKH as private patient - seen him 4 times from 13 weeks to current 35 weeks and total cost $675.

I have 1 last scheduled app w KKH n that's it. It prolly cost another 140$ which I think is vvv reasonable. Maybe even cheaper than some packaged prenatal charges. N in KK I feel secure that they will be able to solve any form of complication n that it will be same gynae delivering me.

Say u worry about the cost being exorbitant. .. it's confirmed to be at any private hospital... I worried about that too n I called admission in KK giving all my scenerios n they said not to worry if end up really mine is complicated... I can still change from a private patient to a subsidised patient as long as i opt for it BEFORE I admit to hospital. And she also advised that in fact, they will advise u financially upon ur condition so u know exactly what u getting used into.

Thank you so much for your advise, if it going to public hospital like kkh do you have any good gynae to recommend?

Could i check with you on a part that you mentioned on the change from private patient to subsidised patient before admission, will you be able to get the same gynae that you have been followig up with to do the delivery for you? Thanks.

Hi mummies. With the insurance thingy kicked in some gynaes are not delivering babies anymore or they raise their delivery fees. Anybody has any good recommendation? & is KKH private almost same price as TMC now?
