Wa.. got chance to b jubilee baby!

Think can start to rest from week 38 onwards. . If not the baby comes out earlier u may not have rested yet.

Have you mummies washed all your bb clothes? What can I down with hand me downs that has milk stains or stains? Hoe to remove? Don't think I can use bleach right?

Just saw this forum for mummies who is having their due date in December 2014. Wanna ask mummies here. if any mummy here facing the same problem as me, not dilating at 39weeks. Or any mummy when for inducing labour? Is it painful ?

I was advised to walk a lot if I want the labour to come faster. Dunno whether if there's any truth in that.

hi wensays, my #1 was induced. pain threshold varies fr person to person i supposed. but gd thing is, all are planned, so u can plan for epi to be in the picture as well. :)

Hi mika rei, you mean epidural? It's my #1 so idontknow what to expect and all. But all I know was Im still far from dilating when I'm now on my 39weeks.

Same here. Groin area, pelvic area and uterus area hurts when I walk and also getting onto/off/ turning on bed. I'm week 37 now.

Yup. That's why I didn't have too much walking. But you still dilating? After Gynae check on the dilating and say I'm still far behind, am kinda worry. I want to have a natural birth and not inducing the baby out.

I also try n minimise walking as much as possible cos it's just too painful to walk now . My gynae has not check for dilation yet. Cos during my last check at wk 36 last wk, bb not engaged yet. Next wk then see gynae again.

Think your gynae will only induce when bb is overdue or emergency case?

I'm not sure about inducing baby as its my first time being a mummy. Just came back from my appointment Ytd that the baby position is pretty down, only problem is yet dilate at all. Wanted to walk as much as I could to dilate it alittle which I was told from my friend but I turns out I walk as if my left leg was kinda limping.
And heard that induce could take you and your husband 24hours round the clock which is pretty tired and exhausted so was hoping for a natural birth to save those hassle and jut go thru the pain :) hahaha

Got schedule to go back on my edd date. still hoping baby could just pop out anytime now, kinda excited to see him.

If bb is pretty down, he should b coming out soon! Enjoy the last few days of waiting! U can try doing some squats to speed things up. When is your edd?

For me, I hope my girl can stay in my tummy longer. Tml my last day of work before I go on leave. Am hoping to rest more before the big day arrives. My edd 23 Dec, don't mind her being a xmas bb!

Pretty down is what Gynae told me and I notice that with the super frequent of urine I has recently. And notice my hip is getting width and width which is a nightmare to me as I've gained a lot more than I thought.
But still worried as idontknow how to monitor on the symptom of laboring. Does doing squats help? Having a problem even laying down now, maybe ask my husband to help me in doing squats if it does help.

My edd was on 10Dec. Hahaha!

I heard squats helped for some people. U can give it a try. Ur edd very soon! Excited for u!

Parkway east hospital. KKH the waiting time is always very long cus restructure hospital.. But famous for high rate of delievery. good good

Hahaha wanted go parkway east as I will delivered there too but my place to parkway east kinda troublesome as there's no train to get there even u stay in the east, so decided go kkh but I'm so so so so regret now :( they doesn't even have a doctor to answer why my left lower pelvic is getting more and more in pain and recently it's kinda like I can sprain it anytime. Should have go there as there's a specialist regarding this.
 
lease dont employ a confinement lady by the name of AH CHOO. She is absolutely horrible. first day arrive she pass us the receipts of her taxi ride from custom woodlands to my place. She is from MELAKA. Anyway thats fine.

She told me she only given 21 days pass to be in Singapore.! so i ask her how? She ask us to apply work permit which would be another $200+. on top of S$2800.

She is not a big fan of Breastfeeding too. When i started breastfeeding with difficulty, it doesnt help her being there encouraging to bottled feed!

Please dont contact or employ her.

I think a lot of CL don't encourage breastfeeding coz they can feed the bb until full full if they use formula milk. Then their nights will be easier too.

Çoz my CL also don't encourage it and was quite sarcastic initially until my hubby told her to stop saying stuff to us since we're first time parents too.

Your CL had only 21 days left in Singapore is because she had worked for others in the previous months. According to ICA, Malaysians have 60 days to stay in Singapore. So to restart these 60 days, they have to go back to Malaysia to stay for one month. So if your CL has worked for others in the previous months and she has only gone back to Malaysia for a few days before she embarks to Singapore to work again, they will just deduct her previous number of days stayed in Singapore and that will be her remaining number of days to stay in Singapore. In order for her to work for you for 28 days for your confinement, you need to apply a temporary work permit via MOM website. If you and DH are Singaporeans, the levy is about $120 per month. On top of that, when you submit the application for the temporary work permit, there's an administrative fee of $30 to pay. These 60 days thingy is really a heng-suay kind of thing. If you happen to be the previous employer, then you probably don't need to apply the temporary work permit for her.

Most CLs are worried that your baby will go hungry especially if you are one with low supply of BM. BM is not as filling as FM. However, if you have abundance of BM, you can always insist her to feed your baby BM.

I'm speaking from my own experience. My CL also always asks me if my baby is full drinking my BM. I'm someone with low supply but I still insist on breastfeeding my girl. When I put my girl in her cot to sleep, she cries then my CL will say she doesn't like to sleep in the cot. She will also say my girl doesn't like to sit in the car seat when she cries. One thing you must understand, generally CLs are not very highly educated and they mostly operate from their vast experiences. I tell my CL if my girl doesn't like to sleep in her cot then I'll train her to like to sleep in her cot. I also tell her my girl doesn't have a choice not to sit in the car seat as it's for her own safety and this is Singapore, not Malaysia. It's mandated by law that all children need to sit in a car seat in Singapore. If we get caught by traffic police, it's fine and demerit points. So she gets my point. My CL is actually a very kind and nice lady. Just that sometimes she is insensitive of what she says. I believe most CLs are like that too.

I think claiming the taxi fare from employers is very fair. For us, when we go out, we also pay for her meals. Sometimes my CL also buys us food to eat when we are outside.

My girl is now on total BM. We used to have a mix for her. Day time BM and night time FM. If you think it positively, it isn't a bad idea to give FM at night because FM can last longer and that also means you need not wake up so many times in the night to feed. If you intend to cut your night feeds as soon as possible, giving FM during the last feed can help that.

The first cl I had always asked whether my gal drank any milk when I latched her. I also felt it was very insensitive and was depressing at times cos i had very low supply and problems latching but can't really blame them cos they are quite simple minded people. Try to imagine your own auntie taking care of you.

Yup! My CL also always asks me if I have any BM for girl to drink. Little do they know that our breasts will always have milk as long as we breastfeed. When our breasts feel soft as we breastfeed, it is finding an equilibrium to balance out the supply and demand. It's not because there's no milk when our breasts feel soft.

CL ah choo intends to cut my sons umbilical cord with kitchen scissors just like that. She said "I always do that for every kid"
We initially thought of letting her cut it but it sounds a little bit worrying until we called our mother to check.
Don't ever let any CL cut the remaining umbilical cord. Infection might sets in and baby could get very sick.
Just let it drop off naturally. When it eventually dropped, we placed a sterile 20cents coin on the umbilicus to prevent umbilical hernia.

My baby is 14 days old now. We managed to find a lovely replacement CL called Aunty Gui Xiang from JB and we could trust her very minute looking our son. Baby is waking every 2-3 hours for breast milk. Quite tiring but CL would hold her and feed her about 80mls each feed. She is open to suggestions and feedback. Cooks quite well as well. Clean well and hygienic.

My cl also quit on me. She left on the 6th day.

Suddenly need to learn all the skills to take care of bb from my sil as this is my first bb. My sil has been helping out in the day while I do the night shift.

My bb is 10th day old today. Her bm intake is around 90ml every 3 hours. is this too much? Currently I only express around this amount - no excess for storage. Getting worried if I can meet my bb demand.
