(2015/05) May 2015 Mummies

hello tracytan84, congratulations!! :) i'm still trying out different gynaes myself cause i'm not too sure what to look out for in a good and patient gynae hehehe

Hi tracytan84, congrats on expecting your #2. :) I am located in the west too and I am with Dr John Yam who has a clinic in Jurong Point. You don't want to stick to your previous gynae?

starrymommy, i'll be seeing Dr John Yam for the first time this Saturday morning! :) was asked to drink two big glasses of water before coming in to the clinic

Hi mummies! Found out in early august that I was pregnant but was in disbelief until I saw the heartbeat flickering on the ultrasound monitor 2 days ago. EDD is on 8 may 2015. It's my first pregnancy so I'm excited and anxious at the same time! Hope that we would all have a healthy and smooth pregnancy!

ooh! I think you will like him! :D my next appointment is next Monday. countdown begins again. Haha!

Yeah. Dr Yam also told me to come in with a full bladder before seeing him next Monday. If no full bladder, will have to use the V scan again. I can't decide which is more uncomfortable. Both don't feel good. :p

My bladder wasn't really full but they could still see clearly on abdo scan.. So I dun think is really an issue... Just dun go to toilet before the visit can already.

Hi, welcome! Invited u via email already!

Have u ladies started on any anti stretchmarks cream/oil? I've been using Bio Oil for the past 2 weeks or so. Actually already have stretchmarks from 2 previous pregnancies so don't know if it will help or not.. wasn't very conscientious in applying oil/cream back then so hope this time round it will help.

nope not yet...a few of my friends recommend me the clarins oil...thinking of starting next month...they also told me need to apply religiously everyday all the way until even after give birth...cause they said even as the tummy shrinks after giving birth, stretch marks can form...

babymarian, I tried the Clarins oil but find it a tad too oily for my liking. The smell is very nice though! Very spa-like.

Mummy mojo, haha! Excited till can't sleep? Well, better sleep while you can. Later on in late 2nd trimester and 3rd trimester you may find it hard to get quality sleep. :)

Mummies, I went for a scan earlier but could not detect heartbeat yet. Doc asked to go back again in two weeks time to scan again. I am so worried. Last pregnancy was the same no heartbeat ended up have to do d&c at 9 weeks. I am supposedly be in 6 weeks now :(

Hi momocrv, are you very sure of day that you ovulated? Maybe you were late in ovulating and you are not 6 weeks yet? For my first pregnancy, I went to doc when I thought I was 8 weeks when I was really 4 weeks so didn't see anything at all. Praying hard that you see your bb heartbeat soon!

Could be you ovulated and conceived later than you thought hence can't see heartbeat yet. Just maintain positive and wait for 2 weeks then go for check again. Hope everything's fine and baby's healthy.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement :) I hope so too but after what happen with my first pregnancy I can't help being paranoid. Nway will pray and wait for 2 weeks to come faster.

Thank you booy. I just had a bad case of ms - shouldn't have taken my fish oil in morning. Made it worse. Yucks
MS sucks... Just occasional nausea makes me feel sick.. Hope they keep away from you soon.. Can we still take fish oil?

Is it because it's too hot? I just turn my aircon to 25 degrees. That's like the only temperature that I can manage to sleep in. Do try and get as much rest as you can!

Hi Starrymommy, i browse thru the previous msgs and thot that they were quite persistent in recommending gleneagle and shld Dr Yam not able to travel to Mt A in time, another gynae will be replaced instead? My ex co wife went to Jurong East St 24 Astra Women's Specialists Dr Tho Chin Keong and she will deliver in Mt A next mth and i have called up and book a slot for next wed for 1st consultation. However i find the 1st consultation and etc too pricey. 1st Consult $185. Subsequent $125. Package starts from 4 mths onwards at $900. Normal delivery $1200, C-section $2500. Or is this abt the price for now? Can share Dr Yam package for antenatal and delivery charge?

1st baby was delivered by Dr Woo Bit Wah from TBR at TMC. I prefer sm1 who is more chill, relax and can assure me more as i get worried easily. Can also add me at [email protected] in fb. thx!!

momocrv, did your doctor asked you for HCG blood test? Did you have transvaginal ultrasound or abdominal?
Coz this time, it was unexpectedly doctor find me pregnant when I did the blood test. I did the pregnancy test the day before but it shown negative. Gynae scan my tummy and cannot see anything yet. So he asked for blood test. At that time I am around 4.5 weeks. But one week later, I can see the sac already.

I don't recall Dr Yam being pushy in recommending Gleneagles. In fact when I was warded for pre-term labour at Mt A during my 30th week, he came and see me on a daily basis and did not even charge me a single cent for visiting as I ended up delivering in NUH and took on another gynae there, so I don't know how true is it if he cannot make it to Mt A, another gynae will take over. Back then his package rate was like $500++ from 4th month onwards. I am not sure about his charges now. Can call up his clinic and ask? Will also ask him about all these when I see him next week.

He's also a very relaxed and easy going man. Very gentlemanly also. Even my hubby likes him. Haha!

I called up earlier and 1st consultation is at $100 Scan $80. 14 weeks onwards can sign on package @ $941. All with addition gst. Normal delivery at $1800, assisted $2400 and c-section at $3200 doc fees. Quite pricey. My previous gynae Dr Woo says likely i will hv to do c-section for 2nd one and at that time i already paid more than 10k. V worried will shoot up much higher given Dr Yam charges are higher. Thx for recommending thou!

Wow, his charges are getting higher. Didn't know that.. I will ask him WHY when I see him again. Lol! Will still stick to him though, 'cos very comfortable with him liao.

@jubileebaby I suggest you go for another gynae just to confirm again what happen to you. This is happened to me in Feb. Early feb, go see gynae just for check up and accidentally doctor found me pregnant but with sac only. I do not believe that I am pregnant at that time. Then after 2 weeks I was bleeding, I thought it was my period. I saw gynae 2 days later, then gynae cannot find anything, no sac anymore. Then ask me to come back in one week time. I was still bleeding the whole week, then when come back, my gynae told me I am confirmed not pregnant. Then I go to another gynae again, he still cannot confirm why this happened to me. He think I might be miscarriage, but when I go to see him, it is already late.
Hi mylilsheep, Eeznyl and babymarian: Thanks for your encouragement, really appreciate them. This morning I went to kkh to do a second blood test to find a significant drop in my hcg comparing to Sunday's reading. It is then confirmed by Dr John Tee that my bleeding is due to early miscarriage. For some mothers who like to know, my last period was 3rd Aug, so I am in week6. I started experiencing backache last thursday and friday. I started heavy bleeding and felt period-like cramps on Sunday, and today I am confirmed m/c.

Being my "first pregnancy", naturally I have been feeling worried. But I felt lucky that my "waiting time" was only effectively 1 day, I do not have to keep guessing what my body is going through. Felt lucky also due to a supportive husband. I like to send my best wishes to all mother-to-be to be strong and have faith in yourself. I learnt that no matter what happens, we have to stay strong to accept, we can then move on. Because if we are not strong, our families will be more worried about us. *jiayou! hugz to all*

dear jubileebaby, sorry for what you had to go through and thank you for sharing with us so positively. wish you all the best in your TTC journey and may you be blessed with a healthy bundle of joy very soon. big hugs!

@jubileebaby - sorry to hear what you have to go thru. Words cannot express how much i feel for you right now. All the best and please nurse your health back properly. Avoid cold and refrigerated stuff ok?? BIG HUGZZZ

Something for you:-
I would like to convey tonight is that after surviving the unimaginable, there is hope. There are lighter and brighter days down the road. No matter how far along we are in this journey we must remember to be gentle on ourselves. Be patient. Be kind. Remember. Love and be loved. The sadness, the desperation, the anger… these feelings are all a part of the process. Let yourself go to those dark places, but please, remember the light too. As difficult as it is to accept that time marches on while our world has seemingly come to a crashing halt…. time is our ally. Time softens the pain. Time allows us to remember the good and not always the bad.

i'm so sorry to hear about this! Big big hugs to you! Wishing you all the best and hope you will have your little healthy bundle of blessing soon!

@jubileebaby, so sorry to hear about this. I know how it feels. Last time I also very emotional and dissapointed dunno what happen. But I just think positively that God has His own plan, and He will make it beautiful in His time.

hi all, this is my first pregnancy after married for 2 years.
i tested positive yesterday when period is due. so i'm only about 4 weeks. (ClearBlue digital says 1-2 weeks)
my sister advised me no need to see gynae so early coz they can't scan anything now and will only see me at a later date.
So i'm just searching around for gynaes and also wanted to join this forum for support as the pregnancy is so early and unstable,
I don't really want to tell people yet.

I'm thinking of going to Dr Adrian Woodworth at CCK since he seems quite a nice doctor and also conevenient for me. Anyone knows what are his charges like?

I did a blood test last week but this time she didn't ask me to do it. And I had a transvaginal scan but could not see the fetal pole and heartbeat yet

Nothing got to do with the temp.. I don't feel too hot or cold.. Think my body is just adjusting to the LO.. So now I just need to tide thru this transition period I hope..

Hugs jubileebaby, great that you are strong.. Yes having faith is very impt, May you be blessed with another one soon..

Congrats to all mummies here...sorry but i was in this thread earlier (fairie2010) till gynae confirmed chemical pregnancy. a quick question. Im still waiting for menses to come. Should i still wait or take the induce pills?
i went to see dr yam last week on this. He did a v-scan n confirm nothing except 2.7cm cyst. Could my body b in denial stage? He did advise to let menses come naturally instead of forcing it out...I feel as if im gg through a prolong PMS.mood has been v bad..n body bloated. I rather that i bleed than just silent m/c...
