Well, if you think there is a lump on your breast, I urge you to make that appointment immediately...right now!
Do Not Hesitate..not even a second.
A lump in the breast does not reckon a serious case, yet diseases do spread, and rapidly for some.
I am hopeless when it comes to a BSE - Breast Self Examination. But for mum, it's a regular thing she used to do then. Visited the Polyclinic w her concerns yet sent home because the staff attending to her didn't find anything. Good thing her gut and itchy fingures saved her cos she did another BSE at home..she wasn't feeling that peace. She was convinced there was something quite not right. Called the Polyclinic, went back the next day and this time they got a doctor to attend to her. Voila! There was a lump. To confirm, they did a mammogram followed by another test (dunno what) and found that the lump was benign (not harmful). She was advd to remove it. It was a small lump which anyone could have missed just by a BSE. The thing w this problem was...the small lump was too close to her nipple, so they had to take out the whole breast. Though benign, the hospital was still careful to ensure the lymph nodes were ok. No other cancer cells spreading anywhere else.
