Any cheap women clinic for checkup on breast?

You can goto any GP or Polyclinic. If it warrants further examination, then they can refer you to specialists.

yes, go for home clinic first to get refer letter, i just did breast ultrasound test, the price is about $100

mashi - Hi, don't know how old u r...Health Promotion Board has a scheme for Subsidised screening for above 40 yrs old, website for more details http://www.hpb.gov.sg/HOPPortal/programmes-article/3324

Mokymok,
Thank you for reminding me to make that appointment soonest, since my last check was early last year or even two years' ago..hmm, I can't recall. Just dread going for such examinations and ppl like me who has family history of breast cancer conditions, must go for the check yearly because my mother is a breast cancer survivor, so my sisters and I are considered high-risk.

Well, if you think there is a lump on your breast, I urge you to make that appointment immediately...right now!
Do Not Hesitate..not even a second.

A lump in the breast does not reckon a serious case, yet diseases do spread, and rapidly for some.

I am hopeless when it comes to a BSE - Breast Self Examination. But for mum, it's a regular thing she used to do then. Visited the Polyclinic w her concerns yet sent home because the staff attending to her didn't find anything. Good thing her gut and itchy fingures saved her cos she did another BSE at home..she wasn't feeling that peace. She was convinced there was something quite not right. Called the Polyclinic, went back the next day and this time they got a doctor to attend to her. Voila! There was a lump. To confirm, they did a mammogram followed by another test (dunno what) and found that the lump was benign (not harmful). She was advd to remove it. It was a small lump which anyone could have missed just by a BSE. The thing w this problem was...the small lump was too close to her nipple, so they had to take out the whole breast. Though benign, the hospital was still careful to ensure the lymph nodes were ok. No other cancer cells spreading anywhere else.

If I am not wrong, Breast Cancer Month is in October. The BCF - Breast Cancer Foundation has a Pink Ribbon Walk on 27Sep and other activities and Awareness programs etc in that month. I recall, as this has been going on for last few years, Guardian pharmacy issues a voucher (never took notice of wordings on it) upon so many $$ purchase, that allows you to have a mammogram check at selected/specific clinics, hospitals for a discounted price.

I am sorry, can't recall much details. Perhaps somebody would like to call BCF to enquire on subsidized rates?

Good morning!:)
Just to share..
