KKH or NUH?

hihi, do you guys have any gynaes to recommend at NUH? Any idea regarding packages as well?

I think it's better to choose hospital near home so that it's easier for your family members to visit you... Especially if you have older children.
Doctors wise, every hospital has it's share of good ones. I never tried NUH before, only KKH. Dr Goh Shen Li was very gentle and meticulous. She was very reassuring too.

i prefer NUH because i heard so many bad stories from my friends. i think if u want to go to kkh also can but need to find GYNAE THAT U TRUST OR KNOW..
plus, kkh seems to have more bad publicity or news for the past years . eg, the incident which the nurse gave the wrong baby to the wrong parents.

I have been to both the maternal ward to visit my friends in NUH and KKH. I feel that NUH seems better.
My friend (who delivered in KKH) said that delivery suite is quite crappy. The other friend who delivered at NUH said that the delivery suite is about the same as private.

Just to share, for KKH there is option for private use of delivery suite up to 12hrs I think. If longer they charge extra.
For TMC they only let you go into delivery suite near delivery so I used only about 1-2hrs. All other time I was at observation ward which was quite crammed and shared with a few other mums cos lack of space.
Epidural was administered there. Not so comfortable in that sense.

Consultant – First Visit S$109.15 and Repeat Visit S$87.75
Senior Consultant – First Visit S$130.55 and Repeat Visit S$98.45
These consultation fees are not including any scan, investigation, tests or medications.
There is a revised change for our outpatient charges packages before GST as follows;
1) Assoc Consultant / Consultant S$770.40
2) Senior Consultant S$898.80

Not cheap leh.... I went to private doc and paid cheaper than that. Gave birth earlier this year only.

so far, i find that NUH nurses have been very patient, attentive and caring. Fetal Care Centre sonographers are pretty ok, and i find them more gentle than sgh ones. The sgh nurses also can't do a proper blood test for me as my blood veins are hard to find. The NUH Women Clinic is also newly renovated about a few years ago.
Car Parking at NUH is not an issue too. There is new "One Kent Ridge" Mall that is next to NUH Women Clinic and you can find some cafes/restaurants and ntuc too

Wah the package increased 50% from earlier this yr..... any idea does the package include each visit scanning?

- All pregnancy-related consultation from 22nd week of your pregnancy onwards till the birth of your baby
- 2 ultrasound/obstetric scans (at 22nd and 32nd weeks) to monitor the growth of your baby
- 1 post-natal consultation

Nuh serv is much better esp in the delivery suite and ward. The quality of the MOs and jr drs are better too. Nurses v pro bfding
I was seeing a gynae at kkh in my first tri then switch to Nuh in second tri. I find kkh's system too messy and very hard to book appointments etx. The atmosphere at nuh is more pleasant n I find the nurses nicer and more initiative. I also prefer the gynae team at Nuh. Maybe more familiar with them since I had more friends who delivered at Nuh.

I'm also under prof Biswas. Now only at week 18. I had my spinal surgery done at NUH and I find prof Biswas very detailed and friendly. He also took the initiative to discuss my condition with my back specialist to see if I need c-sect or natural delivery. The nurses there are very patient too.
Ya I agree he is very good! I m actually having some issues in my third trimester and he has been monitoring me very closely. He is someone that doesn't take chances yet he he wouldn't let you worry unnecessary. If helps that he sees a lot of high risk pregnancies so I have faith he knows his stuff. So can u opt for natural delivery in the end? Even if u can't u are in gd hands cos he does so many c-sects for twins, triplets etc that my friend who had a c sect said her wound recovered much faster than others

My 4 kids i delivered at KKH, single bedder, pleasant experienced, cause all the A class 1st bedder nurses and my gynae are Awesome, its like going for a short holiday for the single bedder and free stay for Hubby sleeping on the sofa bed for 2 nights. IF KKH have water birth i will go there again. No 5 child i am going to NUH cause i want to try Water Birth Experience. Too bored giving birth on the bed wanna try something different. I saw NUH single bedder and the deluxe stay via their website and still deciding which is better Deluxe of Single better accommodation.
Hi, may I know when is your EDD, have you gone through the Water Birth already?
I will be deliver at NUH too, still havent decide to go for Water Birth or not.
