AWWA

Company Overview:
The Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) was formed registered as a society in 1970. Over the years we have grown to serve over 5,000 clients ranging from caregivers, elderly, disabled and families in Singapore each year. Through these years, AWWA stays faithful to our mission in empowering our clients to maximise their potentail to lead dignified and independent lives through the work that we do.

Why Join Us?
AWWA began as a voluntary organisation in 1970, and till today, we continue to place a high value on volunteerism as a culture. We are particularly proud of taking home the President's Award for Volunteerism 2012, which recognises best practises in the management of volunteers, donors and fund- raising. More than that, we are gratified by the existence of this award for raising the bare of volunteerism efforts in our local community.

Experience has taught us that giving is almost never a one- way process. It goes hand- in- hand with receiving, and at its best, giving and receiving creates a magical cycle where all parties are transformed for the better. As the wise saying goes, the giver also becomes the receiver and vice- versa. We are happy to say, that is so in the case for many of our volunteers, who continually find meaning and fulfillment in their time at AWWA. Some of them have been with us since their school days, and we have the pleasure of seeing them mature into wonderful individuals, starting families of their own.

Currently, AWWA has 323 individual volunteers and 111 corporate volunteers. With 13 programme departments (and counting), we recognise that ours is a dynamic job. As AWWA grows and the needs of our clients and supports evole, we relish the challenge of staying ahead, the aim of which is to flourish the happy cycle of giving- receiving at AWWA.
