Water the Imagination

For the first time, tiny tots of two years old can be classmates with mommy or daddy and go on an adventure around the world like The Snail and the Whale. Grow your child’s imagination through classic stories which revolve around water as their common theme. Check website (link below)for classes for older children.

Travel Back in Time

Children from 4 to 12 years of age can experience future information and communication technologies through these workshops. Programmes include virtual piano, virtual shopping, a 3D photo booth and Christmas tree making with e-building blocks. Parents to accompany please.

Meet Salty the Snowman

Babies also need stimulation to learn and imagine. Julia Gabriel’s Playnest Winter Wonderland programme is suitable for 6 to 18 month olds. Through stories, songs, drama, puppets, flour play, and cookery, children get to meet Salty the silly snowman and Tanu the snowy white tiger, or Picasso the penguin and Ronaldo the reindeer. Sing Like a Pro

The Big Draw is the biggest annual global drawing festival, with over 1,200 drawing sites around the world. Why not enjoy this award-winning experience as a family this year? Kick a Ball

This December, First Kick Academy is holding three two-day camps at three different locations. The camps aim to build interest in soccer, and build friendship and teamwork. Going Around the World: Words and Movements

This all-encompassing experience by Bellydance Discovery brings fun and exercise while sharing interesting facts about Turkey. Children will learn about the Turkish language and be immersed in the country’s music and dance. At the end of the two or three-day workshops, a mini party will also be held. Classes are grouped according to age: 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12 years old.

Families for Life Celebrations, which used to be known as The National Family Celebrations, holds monthly picnics at various parks nation-wide between October 2014 and August 2015. Bring the family and join a picnic which is happening near you. Provide your own food and drinks, and enjoy the host of free organized activities.

Listen to Stories

Get comfortable with family members and listen to tales from faraway countries. Be transported to wintry locales and the vast reaches of your imagination at these story-telling sessions at Gardens by the Bay. The story-telling will be held inside Flower Dome and admission charges apply. Check the website for December activities as well. Recommended for families and children of all ages.

Make some Music

Designed for children who like to tinker, do woodwork, break apart electronics to see how they work, and who are interested in creating and 3D printing. Children and parents will learn more about electronics and engineering while designing their own electronic pianos and building speakers. Suitable for children aged 6 to 12. Limited spaces available.

Go Rock-Climbing

If you keen on learning more about conquering that wall and your tween shares your passion, come together as a parent-child pair and be educated on the biomechanics of climbing as you scale the 15-metre “Cliff” together. Going Around the World: Food and Craft

Big Fun Kitchen and My Art Studio take you to Italy and Japan through their one-day cooking and art workshops. In ‘Let’s Go Italian!’ your child will make pasta and sandwich rolls as well as a Venetian mask using mixed media mounted on canvas. In ‘Let’s Go Japanese!’ your child will make a vegetable sculpture and a bento set as well as a Japanese lantern using Chinese ink painting technique. Suitable for children aged 6 to 16 years.

Bird-Watching: The Visitors

Bird-Watching: The Residents

For Christmas, each parent-and-child pair can make a Snowflake Tree Skirt for their tree at home. More independent children from 6 years old and above can take part in workshops on making a Christmas Dove or a Christmas Stocking, which are available on other dates.

Sketch a Walk

Parents who enjoy drawing as well as the outdoors may enjoy drawing on location together with their children. Join this sketch walking community where you can pick up tips and tricks, or embark on your own outing with your child. With the urban sketchers, there is a sharing session afterwards. While this is not an activity designed exclusively for children, they are welcome to come along and learn from the experts.

Develop a New Skill

Spot and develop your child’s talents through a host of activities by MediaCorp. The Bubbling Talents Starters programme for children 6 to 12 year olds is spread over three days. The Gardens is holding Garden Troopers!, a two-day adventure for children aged between 9 and 12 years. Camp with the Transformers

The Singapore Science Centre’s in-house educators will lead campers from 9 to 12 years on an expedition to learn about robots, stop motion animation, astronomy, and more. Your child will also get to embark on an exclusive tour of Transformers exhibition, watch the movie during supper, then observe wildlife at the Eco Garden the next morning. Dinner, supper and breakfast are provided.
