Junior Radio Academy

Senior Programme Director for Class 95FM Erina Cook takes children between nine and 12 years old behind the scenes of a radio station. Find out how DJs prepare for radio shows, learn basic interviewing skills, and participate in an actual studio recording!

Fun with Mat Yoyo

Conducted in four national languages, this teaches children between six and eight years old the fundamentals of acting and performing. All games, dances, songs and skits are taken from the popular Mat Yoyo kids’ programme. The course ends with a recorded and simulated episode of the show, where children can put the skills that they have learnt into action!

Create & Play in Mandarin

Bear, Bread, and Adventure

Morris Allen English’s December Holiday Programme includes an excursion to the Gardenia factory to observe bread production, a bear-building session, and an chance for your child to pretend to be Tarzan at Forest Adventure. All outdoor activities are followed by a classroom learning session to reinforce what the children have learned earlier in the day. For P1 to P6 students.

Power Up the Wheelies

Dance Like Greased Lightning

OKH Ballet Centre’s Dancer’s Camp, themed “Grease”, is for children aged from five to above 12 years old. Younger ones aged five to eight attend the day camp, while older kids stay in-camp for three nights. No dance experience is necessary. Final closing date: 15 November 2012.

Bend It Like Beckham

Pluck an Ukulele

At Safra’s Ukulele Workshop for Beginners, kids (from age seven onwards) will learn basic chords and pluck simple melodies. They will also be introduced to the various types of ukuleles so that they can make the right choice when buying one. Note: Ukuleles will be provided for the workshop.

The National Library Board (NLB) and the National Parks Board (NPB) organise regular activities for children throughout the year. NLB’s Bounce channel, dedicated to children aged zero to 12, has story-telling, crafting sessions, and shows. The NPB conducts regular workshops and tours for children. Join them in celebrating the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden’s fifth anniversary on 18 November, where there will be a carnival and a children’s walkathon in the garden! Closer to home, check the People’s Association website for courses, workshops, and activities for kids.
