Parents, no need to think about what to do or where to go this March holidays. We’ve planned a day-by-day calendar of fun for the kids (and adults too!) to enjoy all day, every day!
SATURDAY 10 MARCH
Did you know that some plants have leaves that are so special that they can even digest insects? Explore all kinds of leaves and discuss leaf shape, texture, colour, smell and function at this workshop for kids. You’ll even get the chance to look closely at the leaves of the Venus Fly-trap and Sundew and also peer into the cups of a pitcher plant! For children five years and older.

Koko The Great launches an App
Introduce your young artist to the oeuvre of Liu Kang, one of Singapore’s leading artists at this hour-long party to launch Koko The Great e-book and app. Author Natalie Hennedige and illustrator Twisstii will be present to autograph books, and you can also meet the narrators – local celebrity Chua Enlai and media personality Danny Yeo.

Be A ‘Playtrepreneur’ at Sentosa’s KidZ Flea Market
Aspiring young businessmen (and women!) need opportunities to get started on the path of entrepreneurship and Sentosa is providing one with its first-ever KidZ Flea Market, where ‘Playtrepreneurs’ can trade and swap pre-loved toys, games, books and accessories. Not a biz type? There’re still lots to enjoy on Singapore’s very own isle of fun. Be entertained by Captain Palawan and his wacky antics, build sandcastles on the beach, or get up close and personal with some furry friends.

Light Magic at the Bay
The Waterfront at Marina Bay transforms into a city of light and entertainment during the i Light Marina Bay festival. Take a leisurely stroll on the Light Walk Trail (or join a free guided tour), enjoy weekend night carnivals, learn community drumming, watch free movies, enjoy the arts, attend workshops, see if you can spot the stilt walkers and LED twirlers… there’s lots to do when the lights are on! Jazz It Up! Straits Family Sunday
Create Peranakan-inspired pencil toppers and notepads. Go on a special tour of the galleries to find out about objects that Peranakans personalised, such as nonyaware and sarongs (best for children aged between six and eight). Dress up the family as nonyas and babas, and marvel at the intricacies of Peranakan design.

MONDAY 12 MARCH
Celebrate the dragon year as kids embark on a quest to explore the world of these fire-breathing creatures through an international collection of about 300 stamps and philatelic materials dating from 1959 to 2012 and interactive displays. Also on exhibit are Singapore’s 2012 Dragon Zodiac Collector’s Sheet and 3-D stamps from South Africa and Australia. Best for children aged between five and 12.

Bond with your Child

TUESDAY 13 MARCH
Transformers Cyberton Con 2012
If your child spends his spare time converting Transformers toys from one mode to another, let him test his digits at the ‘Fastest Fingers First’ Challenge, which testing convention goers’ skills at converting Tranformers action figures from “robot” to “vehicle” modes here. At the Resorts World Sentosa Singapore Transformers Cyberton Con 2012, Transformers fans will also get to meet Hideaki Yoke, the lead designer of Transformers figures (Takara Tomy), angle for a shot with a 22-foot tall Optimus Prime character statue or at one of the three-dimensional action figure dioramas capturing scenes from Transformers movies, and create their favourite characters at Transformers drawing classes. Of course, you’ll have to top it all off with a spin on the Transformers ride at Universal Studios!

Go Wild at Tampines 1
Ready for some wet fun? Then head up, up, and up – all the way to the rooftop of Tampines 1 mall, where there’s a brand new 10,000 sq ft wildlife-themed wet-and-dry playground for animals – oops, kids, we mean – to roam wild in. The $800,000 playground aims to educate children on the theme of wildlife conservation as they play. Get updates on events happening here – like movie screenings, plays, and close-ups with furry and feathery friends from the Singapore Zoo and Jurong Bird Park – at the mall’s Facebook page. Best for children aged between two and 12.

The Three Little Pigs
The time has come for the three little pigs to seek their fortunes. What will happen to them when the big bad wolf gets in their way? Embark on an adventure with the three little pigs as they battle the big bad wolf with their charming and witty ways! An original adaptation of the classic fairy tale, The Three Little Pigs teaches little ones how success can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. Presented by SRT’s The Little Company and recommended for three year olds and above.

Concerts for Children: Peter and the Wolf
Since its appearance in 1936, Prokofiev’s immortal symphonic fairytale Peter and the Wolf has enthralled audiences of all ages. On of the most popular classical works written for children, this delightful piece recounts how young Peter sets off into the woods against his grandfather’s advice, has a run-in with a wolf, and eventually emerges victorious – with a little help from his friends. Each character in the story is depicted by a different musical instrument. Suitable for children aged four to 14. No admission for infants in arms and children below four years old. Children four years old and above must purchase their own ticket for admission.

Walk in an Ancient Rainforest
Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is the largest surviving primary rainforest in Singapore. Join this fascinating journey of discovery to learn more about the natural wonders of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and why we should protect and conserve its complex ecosystem and diversity. This guided walk is suitable for families with children and groups of not more than five. Please note that the trail is not accessible to prams and wheelchairs.
