Welcome to our last guide (this year!) on fun-filled, kid-friendly weekend activities during the year-end holidays. Up this week: weave a basket, paint a clay gift, be a kidz ranger, be wowed by a Marina Bay Sands’ light and sound spectacular, get stamped.

Young Voyager’s Workshop: My Little Basket

Using recycled materials, learn the basics of weaving to craft your own basket. Though it can seem complicated, this course has been designed to guide total beginners through a step-by-step basket making process making it easy to understand. Each participant will leave with their own finished basket and the knowledge needed to continue this craft at home. Best for 7-12 year olds.

Paint a Clay Gift – Workshop

Pick a design from the wide array of ready-made pottery and get creative with colours and designs. Your freshly-painted clay gift can be taken home as a souvenir or given to a special someone as a personalised gift. Best for 5 – 14 year olds.

New Year’s Day Open House at Singapore Philatelic Museum

Comic book fans can feast their eyes on the full range of Tintin postage stamps issued by Belgium, France and the Netherlands from the museum’s Permanent Collection, and rarely seen original stamp artworks, colour trials, and other philatelic materials from the Museum Voor Communicatie in the Netherlands, and Musée de La Poste in France. Pachyderm lovers can find out about the evolution of mammoths to elephants, enjoy interactive elephant exhibits, and learn fun facts about the ones with the trunks.

Wonder Full @ The Marina Bay Waterfront

Kidzranger Tour @ Singapore Zoo

Kids aged between five and 12 years old and love animals, can sign up for this fun and educational hour-long session to experience life as a zookeeper and find out the quirks of the animals at the Rainforest Kidzworld. They’ll get to play dress-up too: in a special Kidzranger vest, with a Kidzranger badge.
